Olive Anguz

Raised between warehouse raves and half-built stages

Olive Anguz's ear was fine-tuned at Multigroove setup campsites and illegal raves in 1990s Amsterdam. The daughter of Ilja Reiman, a driving force behind that industrial warehouse scene, she spent her childhood between dance radio, studios, and voice-overs for family friends. Born in London and raised in the Netherlands, she crossed the dance floor at Awakenings in the Gashouder as an audience member at eighteen and decided she wanted to be on the other side of the booth.

From Pioneer school to the bounce that fits her

She enrolled in a Pioneer DJ school and clocked in daily hours behind the decks while studying Business Administration. The leap to a big stage came soon: in January 2024, she opened De Samenzwering at Hemkade, already on the main stage. At first, she leaned on harder techno, close to her rave heritage, but that path felt too narrow. The sound she is recognized for today moves between house, trance, and bounce: playful rhythms, forward momentum, and a constant build-up, more attentive to the dance floor's reaction than a fixed label. On her map remain Nina Kraviz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Charlotte de Witte, Reinier Zonneveld, and Sara Landry, now filtered through her own criteria.

A track in Portuguese and a summer that no longer fits in the schedule

That same dance floor logic translates to the studio. After Again, Acid Bassline, No Regrets, Angel Like—on Free For All / Be Yourself Music—and Batida Viva on EXTATIC Records, in April 2026 she released Vem Comigo with Armin van Buuren on Armada Music: a piece with Portuguese vocals, tested in her sets and received with euphoria in Brazil. The track opened the doors to A State of Trance for her, with a guest mix on episode 1274, and a packed festival calendar: Paaspop, Awakenings itself—the goal she set for herself three years earlier as a visitor—, Toffler, OHM, Solar, WECANDANCE, PollerWiesen, and BAUM in Colombia. At ADE 2026, she performs alongside Armin van Buuren and Benwal, and at DGTL. Meanwhile, she manages her bookings from Amsterdam. At this point, she isn't chasing a genre fit: she is chasing people jumping to a track they didn't know yet.
