The energy of Ryan Marciano is best understood from the DJ booth shared with Sunnery James: an expansive, physical, and highly rhythmic form of house that connects the Dutch school with Latin percussion, tribal accents, and festival tension. Born in Amsterdam as Ryan de Lange, he consolidated his artistic identity in the duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, an alliance that emerged after they met in 2006 and became one of the most recognizable names in the Dutch electronic circuit.

From Size and Spinnin’ to the SONO label

His recording career gained speed with releases and collaborations on labels such as Size Records, Spinnin’ Records, Musical Freedom, and Armada Music. Tracks like Snitch, Lethal Industry, Markuzza, Triton, Salute, and Come Follow helped establish a formula based on groove, punch, and high-impact melodies. The collaboration S.O.T.U. with Nicky Romero expanded his reach in the big-stage ecosystem, while remixes for names like Afrojack, Kaskade, Hardwell, or Ferry Corsten reinforced his presence on the front line of international EDM and house.

House with body, club, and ceremony

The sound associated with Ryan combines house, electro house, tribal pulse, Afro elements, and a very direct reading of the dancefloor. Influences like Masters At Work, Erick Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, and DJ Gregory explain his attachment to rhythm and club tradition, although his sets are designed for massive spaces. That mix has taken the duo to festivals and clubs such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, Mysteryland, AMF, Creamfields, Hï Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, and other key points of global electronic music.

A brand of his own within Armada

In 2017, the project took a strategic step with SONO Music, a label linked to Armada Music that functions as a home for their own releases and for new voices in dance electronics. Added to that structure was the Sexy By Nature universe, which has become a radio show, event brand, and platform to showcase their vision of club music. In recent years, Ryan has maintained constant activity with the album Fundamentals, singles like Summer Thing, Amanzi, Without Ya, Better Things, Good Life, Keloke, and new pieces around the Amazone Project, reinforcing his position as a live artist, producer, and curator of a house aesthetic highly oriented toward movement.
