James Edward Lee Marsland, born on November 26, 1989, in Wirral, England, and known worldwide as James Hype, has redefined what "DJing" means in the modern era. While many settle for mixing two tracks, Hype has turned the use of four decks into a high-performance art form. His career began in the clubs of Northern England, where he developed an inhuman technique for manipulating CDJs. His famous phrase "Who Does This?" is a rhetorical question in the face of his unmatched technical prowess.

From "Ferrari" to Global Stardom

While his technique made him famous, his productions turned him into a titan. The 2022 global phenomenon, "Ferrari", catapulted him into the stratosphere, accumulating billions of streams. James Hype does not separate the producer from the DJ; his live remixes and "VIP edits" are the backbone of his sets, creating a unique energy that is impossible to replicate.

Stereohype and Visual Innovation

James Hype is a tireless innovator. He founded his label Stereohype to provide a platform for a hard-hitting Tech House sound. Recently, he has taken his performances to the next level with the SYNC project during his residency at Hï Ibiza, where his movements on the decks are synchronized in real-time with massive visuals. Engaged to fellow DJ Tita Lau, James Hype continues to inspire a new generation of DJs to truly master their instrument.
