Club darkness and big-stage muscle
The dark and muscular pulse that Max Styler brings to the booth connects the energy of big stages with an increasingly European take on contemporary house. Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, he began producing and DJing at a very young age and entered the professional circuit before turning twenty, with an initial phase linked to Dim Mak Records. That period placed him within the American EDM orbit, between bass music, electro-house, pop vocals, and a very direct club writing style, visible in releases like Heartache and Body High.
From the Dim Mak lab to house precision
His recent evolution has been marked by a shift towards tech house, indie dance, and a sound of dense bass, dry percussion, and gloomier atmospheres. The transition has not erased his melodic instinct: it has concentrated it into more functional dancefloor tools. Tracks like I Know You Want To, See You Sweat, Rhythm Machine with Westend, Time To Go, Need You Tonight, or London’s On Fire with Chris Lorenzo and Audio Bullys show a producer comfortable between festival impact and club detail. He has also released and remixed on major labels such as Diynamic, REALM, Trick, Experts Only, Insomniac, Armada, Black Book Records, Truesoul, Kraftek, Monstercat, and Dim Mak, in addition to signing a remix of Blessings for Calvin Harris and Clementine Douglas.
Nu Moda as the axis of a new stage
In parallel to his solo catalog, Styler has explored the Habitatt project alongside Spencer Howard, oriented towards a more melodic and expansive take on progressive house. His most decisive move, however, is Nu Moda, a label and event platform with which he reinforces his own identity: contemporary, dark, flexible club music designed to circulate among house, techno, and indie dance communities. In this phase, he has multiplied his international presence with sets and mixes released from stages such as EDC Las Vegas, CRSSD San Diego, ANTS Ushuaïa Ibiza, Club Space Miami, Radius Chicago, and the Yuma tent at Coachella. That combination of constant production, his own artistic direction, and a global agenda has consolidated him as one of the most visible American names in the new wave of large-format house.
