A record with a cover-art shine

The golden geometric mask of Satin Jackets has become one of the most recognizable images in contemporary nu-disco: a German producer who pursues the polish of CHIC and Trevor Horn—that sound "like a fashion magazine cover"—and translates it into Balearic house, deep house, and polished disco for sunset dancefloors. The project was born in the early 2010s, following a previous stint in the Dortmund house scene, and found its natural home at Eskimo Recordings, the Belgian label that had already propelled Aeroplane or Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas.

You Make Me Feel Good, the sunset turned into an anthem

The single You Make Me Feel Good (2013) set the tone: airy melodies, a yearning chorus, and a relaxed groove that snuck into parties all over the world. Remixes followed for Goldroom, Blank & Jones, or Nora En Pure, the Foreign Affair EP (2014), and a long-playing debut, Panorama Pacifico (2016), celebrated by Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Groove, featuring vocals from Scavenger Hunt, NTEIBINT, or Marble Sounds and tens of millions of streams. The mask, designed by the Australian Jason Wood, allowed for anonymity in the booth while the live act—in an early stage with Den Ishu—toured clubs and festivals from Mexico City to Seoul.

From Solar Nights to Golden Hour

Solar Nights (2019) refined that palette with collaborations from Panama, David Harks, Niya Wells, Emma Brammer, or Anduze; the artist himself summarized it as Satin Jackets "in 3D," and tracks like Northern Lights pushed the project toward a sharper dancefloor pop. In parallel, runSQ was born with Blank & Jones. After settling in Munich just before the pandemic, a series of Lockdown Streams reconnected the producer with his audience and led to Reunion (2022), the third album on Eskimo, with Panama, Ivy Falls, Metaxas, and Tailor. Since 2023, he has been releasing on his own label, Golden Hour: Cruise Control was released on July 18, 2025, and in March 2026 came the Extra Mile EP, with remixes and alliances ranging from Nazzereene to Flashbaxx, Erobique, or Johannes Albert. He has also worked with Poolside, Tensnake, Booka Shade, or Small Black.

Global booth and forest studio

He composes in seclusion in a studio in the middle of the German forest, using Ableton and a chain of dynamic processors, and in session, he relies on Maschine. The 2025 North American tour—with nights like the one at the Levitt Pavilion in Denver, documented in full on YouTube—confirms that the mask is no longer just an internet myth, but a regular presence in clubs, rooftops, and outdoor stages, with work bases between Berlin and Munich. Satin Jackets today occupies the center of a solar, elegant, and stubbornly glamorous nu-disco, halfway between magazine disco and the summer dancefloor.
