Herrensauna, Tresor and the 2018 breakthrough

In the queer Berlin scene of the late 2010s, SPFDJ imposed a blistering tempo that blends techno, acid, EBM, hardcore, and trance without asking for permission. Her residency at Herrensauna and the Boiler Room recorded in the basement of Tresor in December 2018 turned that urgency into a hallmark: a one-hour set that remains one of the most cited documents of her generation. Ben UFO described her style as relentless, and the dancefloor responded with the same sweaty chaos.

Eurotrance, Umeå and London warehouses

She grew up in a town of less than a thousand inhabitants in northern Sweden, with her brother's eurotrance drilling through the wall and nights at thirty below zero. At sixteen, she moved to Umeå. She studied physics with a specialization in astrophysics in Leeds, bought her first turntables in Sydney in late 2011, and, once in London, co-founded Universe of Tang, warehouse raves with female bookings and a deliberately wild aesthetic. Her first public gig was an hour in a Glastonbury tipi, in front of about fifty people: her hands wouldn't respond and a track ran out of beat. That clumsiness, she says, taught her not to control every millimeter of the booth.

The PhD that wasn't and the Intrepid Skin label

In 2016, she accepted a PhD position in extragalactic astrophysics in Potsdam and settled in Berlin with no musical career plan. She left the lab after a few months and surrendered to the dancefloor. A friend sent her mixes to Herrensauna; a year later she was a resident. In 2018, she founded Intrepid Skin, which debuted with Self Will by VTSS and has released music by Nene H, Schacke, and Valerie Ace, among others. She also promoted the DIY sound system System.out Sound, available for rent for underground raves.

Heel Thyself, Motherlode and Amsterdam

She has been a resident on Rinse FM and NTS, signed the RA.744 podcast and an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. She has played at Berghain (Säule), Bassiani, De School, Dekmantel, Dimensions, Awakenings, Time Warp and, in 2025, a b2b with VTSS at Tomorrowland. That same year she launched the party series Motherlode and, in November, her first solo EP: Heel Thyself (Intrepid Skin), featuring The Hot in Psychotic, That Stiletto Track, and Cluster B Intro. Today she lives in Amsterdam and her worldwide booking is managed by Elite Music Management.
