Opening booth at Do Not Sit On The Furniture

In Miami Beach, opening the dance floor is a craft with its own name. Surreal Flight has spent over a decade fine-tuning that threshold at Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Behrouz's club in South Beach: sessions that patiently raise the temperature and deliver the night ready for the headliner. The venue has presented him as a protégé of Behrouz and as a selector-narrator, master of the art of opening the night in a room with palm trees, a disco ball, and long after-hours schedule.

From Sub Motus to solo flight

The project was born in Miami based on a friendship and shared chemistry. In an early stage, the public profile was signed by Felipe Ortega and Alejandro J; over the years, the visible identity focused on Alejo Ancheta, who maintains the Surreal Flight name and direct booking. By 2012, he was documenting a set of almost an hour and a half at Sub Motus, opening for Troncoso. In 2013 came Thirty Three, a collaboration with Juan Archila on the Classic 91 label, cataloged as tech house, and original mixes like Walk Into The Mellow-Dee. Later appeared Nad Dunaem, with Zone+ and Usif, with an ethnic and tribal pulse. In 2014, he warmed up at Trade for Till Von Sein and Thunderpony.

Art Basel, Miami Music Week and the residency

The residency at Do Not Sit has been in place since at least 2015. Since then, he has opened or set the mood for YokoO, Bedouin, Kora, Armen Miran, Facundo Mohrr, SIS, Sabo and Goldcap, Einmusik, Tal Fussman, Rodriguez Jr. and Super Flu, and in 2019 also for Tale Of Us, Matthew Dekay and Steve Bug. He has set the mood during Art Basel weeks—including a recording at Parrot Jungle—and has delivered warm-ups for Miami Music Week, including one of almost three hours in 2025. Outside of Florida, he has played in San Francisco and, in 2024, in Montreal, at Burning Sun for Floral Nights. On YouTube, he publishes on his own channel, with a warm-up of over an hour for Nico Morano in February 2026 and the Surreal Session series, with guests like Viktop and Raw Main.

Surreal Flight & Friends, the house family

When he is not opening for an international guest, he gathers his circle. Surreal Flight & Friends brings together colleagues from the local scene—Lucas Zárate, Bruno Massa, Tomas Pablo, Ale Drik—in the same booth. The sound moves between deep house, tech house, and a deep, melodic, and warm-up house. This is how his current place is understood: not as a permanent touring star, but as a stable host of one of the most recognizable underground booths in Miami Beach, the deejay who ignites the night so that others can take it to the climax.
