Meeting in Milan and the Birth of a Vision

Tale Of Us is the visionary electronic music duo composed of Carmine Conte (MRAK) and Matteo Milleri (Anyma). Although globally associated with the Italian scene, Carmine was born in Toronto and Matteo in New York, their paths converging in Milan in 2008 while studying sound engineering at the SAE Institute. United by a shared passion that led them to abandon other professional paths, such as law in Conte's case, they decided to move to Berlin, the epicenter of Techno, to forge their destiny. Their musical proposal quickly distinguished itself by breaking the mold: an ethereal and atmospheric fusion of House and Techno with influences from Pop, Nu-Disco, and classical music. Inspired by composers like Nils Frahm and Max Richter, Tale Of Us introduced an emotional and cinematic narrative to the dance floor, creating lush soundscapes that captivated the underground audience from their very first releases.

From Visionquest to Afterlife: Redefining Techno

Their rise was meteoric after their 2011 debut with the EP "Dark Song" on the Visionquest label, followed by releases on Richie Hawtin's M_nus and the legendary R&S Records. They played a crucial role in the rise of the Life & Death label, but their true legacy was consolidated in 2016 with the creation of their own label and event series: Afterlife. Conceived as an "odyssey through the realm of consciousness," Afterlife transformed the global clubbing experience, especially with their residencies at Space Ibiza and Hï Ibiza. The brand became synonymous with high-quality Melodic Techno, characterized by its distinctive "falling man" iconography and immersive visual production. In 2017, they released their debut full-length album, "Endless," on the prestigious classical music label Deutsche Grammophon, a work that explored their roots in piano composition and Ambient, demonstrating that their art transcended dance floors.

Global Impact and Solo Projects

Tale Of Us has maintained its status at the top of the electronic hierarchy, performing on the main stages of Coachella, Tomorrowland, and being digitally immortalized in the video game Grand Theft Auto Online. Recently, the duo has expanded their creative universe by allowing each member to explore their individual identities: Matteo as Anyma, fusing digital visual art and music, and Carmine as MRAK, delving into warmer and analog sounds. Despite these successful solo projects and Afterlife's partnership with Interscope Records in 2023, the Tale Of Us entity remains united, continuing its mission to evoke deep emotions and connect with the audience through a musical journey that is both introspective and explosive.
