The psytrance that took over Tomorrowland

Israeli full-on reached the Tomorrowland Mainstage with a Latin name and a tribal pulse: Vini Vici turned psychedelic trance into a festival anthem. The turning point was The Tribe, born in the underground circuit and adopted by EDM booths. In 2015, Infected Mushroom pointed them out as the emerging act of the moment and Armin van Buuren introduced them on A State of Trance. The massive leap came with the remix of Free Tibet by Hilight Tribe—the first psytrance track in the general Beatport Top 10—and with Great Spirit, a collaboration with van Buuren and Hilight Tribe that was the most played track at Tomorrowland in 2017.

From Sesto Sento to the global stage

Before their current name, Aviram Saharai and Matan Kadosh were part of Sesto Sento, a project started in 2001 in Afula alongside Itai Spector. The album Come Together (2006) achieved gold record status. In 2013, now as a duo, they relaunched their sound on Iboga Records with Divine Mode and Trust in Trance. Their debut Future Classics (2015) topped the Beatport psytrance charts. In 2016, they accumulated more than 220 concerts—ASOT, Tomorrowland, Boom, EDC, Ultra, Dreamstate, Transmission, Sunburn, Luminosity—and in 2018 they were the first Israelis on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, opening with Im Nin'alu by Ofra Haza. They were also the first psytrance act on the Mainstages of Tomorrowland and Ultra and to perform at Lollapalooza.

Alteza, the label demanding its own stage

In 2018, they founded Alteza Records, initially distributed by Armada and since 2019 as a sub-label of Smash the House. The label took over its own stage at Tomorrowland (2019, 2020, and 2022) and, in 2025, headlined the first psytrance takeover in the festival's history at Ultra Miami. The catalog crosses the Israeli underground—Blastoyz, Skazi, WHITENO1SE, Omiki—with large-format collaborations: Chakra with W&W, 100 with Timmy Trumpet, Moshi Moshi with Steve Aoki, The House of House and Get in Trouble (So What) with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Galaxy with Paul van Dyk, Adhana with Astrix, or Crazy People 2026 with Hardwell, Liquid Soul, and Mr. Black. In 2024, Hey Ya (with Timmy Trumpet and Tiscore) and Rave Mozart (with W&W) pushed the sound toward big room and festival techno.

The tribe remains in the Top 100

In the DJ Mag poll, they debuted in 2017 (72nd place), jumped to 34th in 2018—winning the award for highest climber—and reached 20th in 2021. In 2024 they held 27th place and in 2025 they were 32nd. They remain on the Tomorrowland Mainstage: in 2025 they opened with Nigun, alongside Shlomo Yehouda Beeri. The Free Tibet remix surpassed 100 million streams. With Alteza as their banner and psytrance now installed on the big stages, the duo maintains the same ambition with which they left Afula: to take the tribe everywhere.
