Korg NTS-4: The missing link for 'dawless' live performances

Korg's Nu:Tekt series has revolutionized the pocket instrument market in recent years. Mixing architecture and analog connectivity
The NTS-4's steel chassis houses a six-channel architecture that supports up to ten simultaneous audio signals. The CUE system allows for private monitoring of signals through the front headphone output before sending them to the main mix, a vital function for live synchronization.

Beyond the analog summing of signals, the NTS-4 stands out for its digital signal processing (DSP) capability. The mixer incorporates two fully independent stereo effects engines inherited from the technology of its predecessors. The "Send FX" section allows for applying delays, hall and slap reverbs, as well as chorus per channel. Meanwhile, the "Total FX" section acts on the master bus, offering low-pass and high-pass filters, isolators, flanger, phaser, decimator, distortion, compression, and limiting.
For more expansive setups, the device features a stereo send and return loop on the top panel, ideal for integrating guitar pedals or external rack processors. Furthermore, the NTS-4 takes a leap into the modern studio environment by including USB-C connectivity. This port not only powers the device but also functions as a class-compliant audio and MIDI interface, allowing the stereo mix to be recorded directly to computers or mobile devices without noticeable latency.
