The underground's solidarity response to the tragedy
Following the devastating 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that shook the northern region of Venezuela on June 24th, leaving a tragic toll of victims and thousands of displaced families, the international community has poured its efforts into assisting those affected. In this context of deep humanitarian emergency, the underground electronic music scene has demonstrated its capacity for immediate mobilization, articulating multiple urgent record initiatives to raise funds. Far from the disconnection sometimes associated with the clubbing industry, producers, independent labels, and promoters have woven a global and tangible support network, donating the rights to their art to fund medical rescue efforts, food, and the reconstruction of vital infrastructure.
Electronic Groove and the union of progressive house
One of the most forceful and rapid responses has come from the renowned platform and label Electronic Groove (EG), which recently announced the imminent release of an extensive charity compilation. This album, conceptualized in record time, gathers original and exclusive tracks from prominent exponents of progressive house, deep techno, and the global underground spectrum. The catalog of confirmed collaborators includes true heavyweights of the industry such as the British Nick Warren, the Argentine master Hernán Cattáneo in collaboration with Tom Pavicich, and the legendary Danny Howells. Joining this stellar lineup are cutting-edge talents like DAVI, Brian Cid, Glenn Morrison, Ricky Ryan & Maze 28, Thaddeus X, Prototype, and Iván Sandhas, forming a tracklist of high collectible value for audiophiles.
Transparency has been a fundamental pillar in this initiative. The revenue generated from the direct sale of this compilation will be channeled in its entirety to World Central Kitchen, the non-governmental organization specialized in providing emergency food led by chefs in critical disaster zones. To give the project its own respectful visual identity, the Venezuelan artist Slomo has donated a geometric work that subtly integrates the colors of the national flag on the cover. In addition to the digital format, the campaign is complemented by a limited edition of 250 solidarity t-shirts and the coordination of a massive community event in Miami scheduled for this July 9th, integrating local promoters, club owners, and music lovers in the physical collection of medical supplies and non-perishable food.

Parallel initiatives: Unsounds Records and PULSO I

Every cent of the capital raised through downloads on the Bandcamp platform is being directed directly and without intermediaries to the relief organizations currently operating on Venezuelan soil.
Likewise, the musical ecosystem has witnessed the premiere of the first volume of the PULSO project, an even more ambitious charity compilation that plans to include more than 100 artists across three different editions over the coming months. These joint actions are not isolated events, but underscore an intrinsic and foundational philosophy in the roots of electronic culture: the unbreakable sense of community, peaceful resistance, and mutual support in the face of systemic adversity and natural disasters.
