A historic sold out in the Los Monegros desert
The festival signs a historic sold out, gathers an audience from 97 countries, and turns the open-air premiere of OUTWORLD and the two simultaneous closing sets into the major milestones of an edition to remember.
The Los Monegros desert has once again proven that there is no other place like it on the planet. Monegros Desert Festival has written the most important page of its 33-year history by gathering more than 60,000 people in an edition that hung the sold-out sign and represents the greatest attendance success since the festival's creation. For 22 uninterrupted hours, the Aragonese desert once again became the global epicenter of electronic music and underground cultures, confirming the international dimension of an event that continues to grow without losing its identity.
The 2026 edition gathered an audience from 97 countries, the highest figure ever recorded by the festival. Of the total attendees, 35% were international, nearly 24,000 people, positioning Monegros as one of the great global destinations for lovers of rave culture.
We have broken the festival's all-time record after 33 years. Monegros has gathered more than 60,000 people in the desert. When we decided to bring Monegros back in 2020, the dream was to create one of the largest experiential festivals on the planet, in the middle of the desert and for more than 60,000 people. Six years later, we have managed to achieve that goal.
On behalf of the Arnau family and the entire organization, we are proud and happy to put Aragon and Fraga on the map of the most prestigious international festivals in the world. It is exciting to see how the festival evolves and grows year after year. This edition marks a turning point for our family and for the company because it is the first time we have brought together more than 60,000 people in such an inhospitable and special environment as the Los Monegros desert.
An edition designed to surprise
One of the great protagonists of this edition was the open-air premiere of OUTWORLD, the new scenic universe sponsored by hard-techno star Klangkuenstler, which surprised with its spectacular nature, its audiovisual production, and an artistic proposal that became one of the most popular spaces of the festival from its opening due to its immersive capacity.
The day also culminated with another historic moment: for the first time in the history of Monegros Desert Festival, two stages experienced simultaneous closings, an unprecedented outcome with Richie Hawtin commanding Techno Cathedral and Héctor Oaks as the final climax of the aforementioned Outworld stage. Closings that symbolized the magnitude reached by the event and left some of the most memorable images of this edition.
The musical journey with 120 artists once again brought together some of the most important figures of the international electronic scene on ten themed stages. Artists such as Amelie Lens, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Len Faki, Klangkuenstler, Indira Paganotto, Kobosil, Fatima Hajji, Seth Troxler, Patrick Mason, Ben Klock b2b SHDW, Dax J b2b Daria Kolosova, Clara Cuvé, Sally C, Toni Varga, Marco Faraone, Chelina Manuhutu b2b Tini Gessler or Brutalismus 3000, among many others, offered a program that once again placed Monegros among the essential dates of the international calendar.
Economic impact and logistics in the desert
Beyond the cultural and artistic impact, Monegros Desert Festival once again demonstrated its enormous capacity for economic stimulation for the territory. The organization estimates an economic impact of between 15 and 25 million euros in Aragon, concentrated mainly in Fraga, Lleida, and the A-2 corridor.
Setting up a city capable of hosting more than 60,000 people for just a few hours is one of the greatest logistical challenges of any European festival. The 2026 edition mobilized nearly 4,500 direct workers, more than 500 linear meters of bars, around 50 food trucks, and more than 450 official buses, in addition to numerous authorized transport services that facilitated access for thousands of attendees from different cities.
All this made it possible for ten stages to operate uninterruptedly throughout the day thanks to the coordinated work of thousands of professionals in production, assembly, security, healthcare, cleaning, logistics, and technical services.
Sustainability and reduction of the environmental footprint
The growth of Monegros continues to be accompanied by an increasingly ambitious sustainability strategy. In this edition, more than 90% of the materials used were reused, while six areas of the venue operated using hybrid generator and battery systems powered exclusively by 100% renewable fuel.
Likewise, the festival expects to have recycled more than 65 tons of waste, reinforcing its commitment to the circular economy and the reduction of environmental impact. Collective transport once again played a key role. Thanks to the deployment of 450 buses, the organization estimates that approximately 500 tons of CO₂ emissions were avoided compared to the majority use of private vehicles.
Looking to the future: Monegros 2027
With an absolute attendance record, unprecedented international projection, the successful open-air premiere of OUTWORLD, two simultaneous closings that are already part of the festival's history, and a growth model based on innovation and sustainability, Monegros Desert Festival 2026 is definitively consolidated as one of the great global references for electronic music and open-air cultural experiences.
