The day will begin at 3:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM, combining a seven-kilometer urban route with an outdoor concert at Kaivopuisto park. The initiative allows attendees to run, jog, or walk while the electronic anthem that marked the end of the nineties is played.
The organization has structured the circuit to pass through various locations used during the filming of the original music video released in 1999. The hybrid format of the event is designed to accommodate different levels of physical exertion. Participants can choose between a walking mode, a recreational run with photo stops, or a competitive pace, although no official timing system will be implemented. Road safety will be managed by traffic controllers, who will coordinate the passage of runners with the local public transport system, including the city's tram network.

The route for the Sandstorm Run 2026 is planned to connect several areas of architectural importance in Helsinki. The organization has confirmed the following mandatory checkpoints for participants:
