The golden island of The Cannery

The island bar with a golden edge remains the axis of Capital. Around that central counter, sofas, high tables, and the dance floor are arranged, with the club's isotype on the wall and the illuminated booth in the background. It is not a corner of the Zouk mainroom: it is its own nightclub, open from Thursday to Saturday at The Cannery, at 3C River Valley Road, in the heart of Clarke Quay.

Fourth concept, another temperature

Zouk settled in this block of warehouses in December 2016. Capital opened to the public on February 18, 2017, as the fourth concept of the complex, designed for a professional public looking for another temperature. The Charnley Stadworth studio proposed about 640 m² with an island, whiskey bar, cigar lounge, and dance floor. The original audio was Funktion-One Evo 6 and the lighting, by LEDSCONTROL with Martin pixels. The room was not a Velvet Underground 2.0: it had its own booth, a capacity of about 540 guests, and a night arc that started in a lounge key—with live musicians early on—and ended in open format.

Hip hop, EDM, and dance floor memory

The musical anchor of Capital has never coincided with the techno circuit of the mainroom's headliner. Thursdays push hip hop and R&B; Fridays, open format and EDM; Saturdays rotate concepts. Total Recall, active since 2017, recovers hits from the nineties and two thousands. SURGE brings festival anthems. GLAM focuses on local DJs. Residents like Jeremy Boon, Matthew, Andrew Tang, and, later, Rattle, Gainzter, or Caden have sustained that identity halfway between urban lounge and commercial electronic club.

Josh Held and the L-Acoustics of 2026

Closed in January 2026, Capital reopened on March 12 with a design by Josh Held Design: two rooms, 25 sofas, 12 high tables, golden accents, and a private karaoke room for 25 people with a dry bar. Concept Systems installed a distributed L-Acoustics—A10i Wide and KS21i, VIP fills and delays, X8i and SB15m at the bar—over a Milan-AVB network. It was the first piece of a reform that seeks to merge Capital, Phuture, and the mainroom into an ecosystem of up to 3,500 people. The public schedule remains from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM, with a smart code and no shorts or flip-flops.
