The black facade of Calle 75A

A palm tree and a dark wall, with glass blocks next to the door, are enough to signal Highouse in San Felipe. The house is tucked into the residential fabric of Bogotá, on Calle 75A with Carrera 20C, in the Barrios Unidos locality. It does not function as a single-dancefloor nightclub: it presents itself as a cultural house, with the pretension that the entire home is a gallery. By day, one crosses a workshop, a bar, and an exhibition; by night, if there is ticketing, those common areas are closed to the member and given over to the party.

Vinyls, booth, and lounge electronics

The electronics here are not a backdrop. There is a vinyl shop and synthesizers, DJ classes, and spaces to rehearse. The house and club nights, with guests from other Colombian cities, have extended the pulse until five in the morning. In parallel, the venue signs the HiGHSESSION, its own mixes with exponents of techno and hardgroove from the capital. The audience is that of a neighborhood of workshops and galleries: less corporate door and more human-scale club culture, more lounge turned into a dancefloor than an industrial venue.

Gastrobar, screen, and house life

The official schedule opens at 10:00 from Monday to Saturday. Until Wednesday, closing is at 22:00; from Thursday to Saturday, the house continues until 05:00. It operates as a gastrobar—signature cocktails, menu, and bar—and as a sports bar with a giant screen for matches. There is a barbershop and image consulting, a membership for daily use, and an explicit policy of sociable pets on a leash. When there is a paid event, daily access gives way to the programming.

The Grand Atelier, between the work and the dancefloor

Under the El Grand Atelier label, Highouse announces a chapter of construction and expansion. The venue, however, is already underway within the San Felipe Creative District: event house, gallery, and club nights in the same venue. It remains open, with a mixed use that takes it away from the hermetic nightclub and brings it closer to a neighborhood house that, when it's time, becomes a dancefloor.
