Klein Phönix

The phoenix born in a Maslak industrial estate

When Klein Entertainment moved into the Atatürk Oto Sanayi at the beginning of 2020, the public didn't get to debut the hangar: the pandemic left the move in silence. On August 6, 2021, the venue reappeared with the name of a bird rising from the ashes. Klein Phönix opened with Parra For Cuva and, two nights later, with HVOB. The location was what was known in Istanbul as the former X Large, but the dancefloor was already different: electronic and techno in the industrial heart of Maslak, a stone's throw from the metro.

Hangar, two stages and a backyard

The Klein brand started in 2015 and left its mark in Harbiye before the Klein Wal stage in Ayazağa. Phönix is the continuation of that line, now with its own headquarters in Sarıyer. It operates as the main Klein club in Istanbul: warehouse architecture, light shows, and programming designed event by event. Inside, two stages coexist. The main dancefloor concentrates the night; the second room is frequently activated. Behind it, Klein Phönix Park —the garden opened on that same August 6, 2021— extends the season into spring and summer.

DJ booth, sculptures and an LED wall

The interior bears the signature of architect Uraz Tekgöz. Behind the DJ booth, the About Nights sculptures by Kazım Karakaya traveled from Klein Wal to this hangar. In January 2024, the club reopened after a renovation that moved the DJ booth, installed a 70 m² LED screen, and widened the volume with long balconies, closer to a large-format industrial venue than a conventional nightclub. Bar points were also added in the rear to relieve the flow of the dancefloor. The venue operates on a large-format scale, with an image that now carries as much weight as the dancing.

A club lineup the size of the circuit

The documented season brings together Diplo, Âme, Dixon, Dennis Ferrer, Claptone, Oliver Koletzki, CamelPhat, James Hype and Pan-Pot, and the local scene of Orkun Bozdemir, Avangart Tabldot, Murat Uncuoğlu, Alican, Mahmut Orhan and Sezer Uysal. The calendar remains active with nights of house, melodic techno, and club shows. It operates mainly on Fridays, Saturdays, and special dates, with doors usually opening from 20:30 and closing in the early morning depending on the event.
