The school that turned into a circuit of dance floors

From the empty classrooms of the Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá school, Proyecto Kinder was born on October 31, 2025: not a simple brand relocation, but a venue rebuilt on an abandoned school block on Calle 63 in Bogotá. The Sector 9 collective, with architect Felipe Rodríguez as creative director and Jorge Pizarro as musical director, invested some 6 billion pesos in structure and soundproofing, reused over 200 tons of scrap and recycled material, and enabled about 4,000 square meters spread across five floors in its first phase. The venue's manifesto defines it as a creative experimentation center installed on the former physical plant of a school, designed for the Bogotá night and for dancing as a collective gesture.

Kaputt returns as a room, not as nostalgia

The immediate precedent is Kaputt, the techno and house club that the same group operated on Calle 72 with Avenida Caracas until 2023, when the building was absorbed by the construction of the first metro line. That first venue, opened in 2019, had become a benchmark for the capital's electronic scene and the LGTBI community. Kinder does not copy that nightclub: Kaputt reappears as the flagship room of the new complex, a direct heir to the original dance floor and dedicated once again to house, techno, and experimental electronics, while the rest of the building unfolds its own atmospheres.

Seven rooms, two plazas, and a school auditorium

Unlike a single-floor club, Kinder functions as a set of independent spaces under the same roof: seven rooms and two outdoor plazas. Coexisting are CRTR, a visual and sound laboratory for techno (130 m² and 390 people); Meridian, the most intimate corner, a disco bar and cocktail lounge for 150 people; and Bonfire, the old school auditorium converted into a concert hall, cinema, and meeting point, with 485 m² and a capacity of 1,300. Completing the map are Pantera, Sector 9, Depot, and Kaputt itself. The total capacity is around 4,500 people. The school's interior patios and hallways were preserved; there is a multimedia gallery and a gastronomic offer designed as part of the night, not as an appendix.

The future is rehearsed on Calle 63

In April 2026, the venue premiered Kaputt Festival Futuro: a laboratory by day and a ritual by night, with over seventy acts, talks, livecoding, and simultaneous stages, featuring names like Eli Escobar, DJs Pareja, Theus Mago, or Nuclear Digital Transistor. Shortly after, it hosted the live closing of the BIME Bogotá anniversary. The programming remains variable —club nights, concerts at Bonfire, fairs, and cultural appointments— at Calle 63 number 15-70, on the edge of Chapinero. Kinder is understood today as the physical venue where the legacy of Kaputt has become a multiple complex, still under permanent construction.
