Sala La Vaca

At the end of 2007, in an industrial-park box next to the Gran Manzana, Ponferrada began mixing Club sessions and live acts under the name La Vaca.

Calle Bilbao, warehouses, and an edge dance floor

The venue is planted in the industrial park, very close to the Parque del Oeste and Avenida de Portugal. It is not an old-town club: you arrive between warehouses, with parking on the street and a compact interior designed to see and dance. The raised stage allows you to follow the concert from behind; there is a VIP area, bars, and a second bar environment that has functioned as an extension of the room. It acts simultaneously as a nightclub and as a concert hall.

The Club sessions: Mulero, Varela, and Bercian techno

What is most characteristic of this dance floor, in electronic key, are the booth late-nights. On December 7, 2009, Oscar Mulero returned to the Club sessions—start at one, with Avi LG, Antiplay, Mark Flecher, and Miguez vs. Blanch—and in 2013 he returned to the same room. Cristian Varela played on December 7, 2012. Marko Nastic, Luis J, Pepo, or industrial techno sets have also passed through that booth, and New Year's Eve 2015 occupied the room with electronics from one to six, plus after-party. In recent years, the FKL crew has sustained series of techno and hard (HARD series, Camp Party) that keep the venue on the clubber map of El Bierzo. On weekends, the venue has opened with a DJ until 06:00.

The same stage for rock, rap, and metal

The other half of the night is the stage. Medina Azahara (2010), Los Suaves—who in 2013 recorded images here for their tour of a thousand concerts—, Guadalupe Plata, Sôber, Reincidentes, Najwa Nimri, or metal visits like Paul Di'Anno, Y&T, or Rotting Christ have used the same box. Also hip hop (Beret, Natos y Waor, Foyone) and, already in 2025 and 2026, indie and local rock lineups: Látigo Mantra and Iboreh, trios of Bercian bands, and neighborhood box offices. In 2012, César Corral, then responsible for hiring, spoke of about sixty performances between concerts and DJ parties for a single autumn-winter.

Still programming, without its own website

There is no corporate domain: the agenda moves through social networks and local points of sale. The City Council and the press announce it as Sala La Vaca. The venue on Calle Bilbao continues to be the place where techno and live music share the same night.
