Beginnings in the Eternal City

Born in Italy and raised in the vibrant heart of Rome, Alessia Di Livio, known globally in the electronic scene as Adiel, found her calling through the human connection generated by club music. Her deep interest in art began at an early age with painting and, especially, classical ballet, a discipline she has admitted was fundamental in forging her artistic vision and understanding her own limits. However, her life took a radical turn at 18 when she first stepped into the legendary Goa Club in Rome. The cultural synergy and the energy of the crowd captivated her, pushing her toward the DJ booth and underground club culture. Her beginnings as a resident DJ at the club's iconic Ultrabeat parties allowed her to develop and polish her technique, standing out thanks to her innate ability to mix vinyl records and build deeply hypnotic sets.

Danza Tribale and Sonic Evolution

Parallel to her growth in the booth, Adiel complemented her training by studying Fashion Design at the respected Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome. This duality between haute couture and electronic music has remained latent in her aesthetic and projects. In 2016, driven by her desire to experiment with darker frequencies and immersive rhythms, she founded her own record label: Danza Tribale. With her debut EP, 'Anatomia Del Cavallo', she laid the foundations of her sonic identity. Her style is widely recognized for traversing Techno, Dub Techno, and organic or tribal textures, managing to create mysterious and rhythmic atmospheres.

Over the years, her catalog of productions has grown alongside standout releases such as the EPs 'Ritmo', 'Tokyo', and 'Cavallina', the latter co-produced with influential Italian pioneer Donato Dozzy. Her talent in the studio has also led her to release music outside of her own label, collaborating on imprints like Ara (run by Kangding Ray) with her EP 'Musicofilia', and releasing music on Stroboscopic Artefacts with 'If Not Now When?'. Furthermore, she has published collaborative works alongside big names like Anthony Linell, consolidating her status as a benchmark producer in the modern techno circuit.

International Projection and Festivals

Today, Adiel is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after and respected female artists within the contemporary scene. Her unwavering commitment to the vinyl format and the depth of her selections have led her to conquer some of the most demanding and imposing dance floors on the globe. She has performed at electronic music institutions such as Berghain and Panorama Bar, the Fabric club in London, and the legendary DC-10 in Ibiza for Circoloco parties.

In the realm of major festivals, her prowess at the mixing desk has dazzled thousands of attendees at events on the scale of Time Warp, Awakenings, Dekmantel, Creamfields, KappaFuturFestival, or Aquasella. Outside of traditional clubs, the Roman artist has continued to innovate, participating in iconic Boiler Room sessions, sets at HÖR Berlin, and partnering with fashion world giants like the Armani brand for her acclaimed presentation for the Mixmag Lab in Rome.
