The residency that sustains Fuse

At Fuse, the club in the Marolles neighborhood that has been the backbone of Belgian techno since 1994, Altinbas is not just another guest: he is a resident, programmer of his own nights, and co-curator of Fuse Imprint. In the booth, he works on detail and the big picture simultaneously, layering cuts until a familiar track ends up sounding like a new story, with emotional phases and a high-energy punch.

Born in Brussels, with Turkish roots and raised between Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and Schaerbeek, he started with the saz around the age of eight. A decade later, he immersed himself in the IDM of Warp—Aphex Twin, Clark—until, around 2013, a night of Planetary Assault Systems and Psyk made him discover Fuse. The circle closed when Psyk himself asked him for demos, and he ended up releasing on Non Series.

Cavernous, precise, and dancefloor-ready techno

As a producer, he pursues deep, hypnotic, and often dubby techno: sound design sculpted over dry and impactful grooves, with a warmth that does not renounce club darkness. Fuse also presents him as an audio engineer. That dual condition is noticeable in Reshape (2023), the vinyl with which he inaugurated Fuse Imprint, and in Sustain (2024), with its rich chords, sharp pads, and dry percussion.

On Token Records, he strung together Illumination, Spirit Moves (2023), and the Voyage EP (2025). He has also released on SK11, Voltage Imprint, and Float Records. With Observer Station, his label with a space aesthetic, he reserves exploration without external constraints: Inner Space, Horizon Glow, Second Wind, Parallel, Verlucent, Eclipse, or Nebula keep the focus on dancefloor functionality. His music has even reached Ostgut Ton compilations.

From HÖR to Waking Life, without letting go of Brussels

The map of booths no longer fits in Belgium: HÖR and Tresor in Berlin, Open Ground, FOLD in London, The Bunker in New York, Church of Endzeit in San Francisco, Waking Life in Portugal, and Horst at home; Berghain is among the venues he has frequented most. In Brussels, he continues to sign nights at Fuse—with GiGi FM or Dustin Zahn—and was part of the founding team of Metropolis, the Sunday afternoons for a local community. Mixes for Slam Radio, Reclaim Your City, Monument, Resident Advisor, and The Bunker confirm the same criterion: traveling through layers, without losing the punch, and leaving Belgian deep techno a little sharper.
