Nørbak's music turns club pressure into an architecture of tense bass, precise percussion and atmospheres that let every element breathe. His language moves between raw, deep and hypnotic techno, with an attention to contemporary sound design that does not break with the classic foundations of the genre. In his productions, physical energy coexists with ambient layers and an experimental inclination; in his sets, that same logic translates into compact, dynamic journeys built with patience.

The Portuguese core of Hayes

Artur Moreira, originally from northern Portugal, began releasing music in 2016 with works for Circular Limited and Illegal Alien. His catalog later expanded to benchmark labels such as PoleGroup, Warm Up Recordings, Semantica, Modularz, Affin, Float, Soma, Mord and Token. In parallel, he became a co-founder and central figure of Hayes Collective, a Portuguese platform shared with artists like Temudo, Vil and Cravo, and created his own label, NRBK, from which he develops an editorial line linked to his vision of techno.

That collective framework has not limited his individual identity. Collaborations with Pfirter, Temudo and Quelza, as well as remixes signed by Oscar Mulero and Lewis Fautzi, show a practice based on exchange without diluting his signature: hard-hitting rhythms, sustained tension and a meticulous treatment of space.

Albums to expand the language

In 2021, he released two decisive full-length works: Flesh to Ashes on Warm Up Recordings, where he brought dancefloor functionality closer to the experimentation associated with IDM, and Flor do Fatalismo on Axis Records. In 2025, he opened a new chapter with Casa, the first album from Hayes, an eleven-track journey focused on low frequencies, dense atmospheres and the resonance of large sound systems. Months later, he released Suave on NRBK, another collection of eleven pieces that traverses different shades of techno.

In 2026, he returned to Token with Chuva, a four-track EP built with detuned synthesis, stormy ambience and expressive rhythm. The Suave era was further extended through two remix installments, reinforcing NRBK's role as a direct extension of his studio work and his judgment as a label head.

Berghain, Lisbon and the global circuit

His discographic growth has been accompanied by a regular presence in booths such as Berghain, Basement New York, Lux Frágil and Gare Porto, as well as performances in spaces like Tresor. The NØRBAK | Boiler Room: Lisbon set, lasting over an hour, synthesizes his ability to manage intensity without resorting to constant acceleration. Within contemporary Portuguese techno, Nørbak occupies a position defined by the continuity between production, label, collective and dancefloor: a career built with technical rigor, sonic identity and an international vocation.
