A house of open smiles and elastic grooves

The pulse of ANOTR is recognized by a very specific way of understanding the dancefloor: warm house, precise percussion, and an energy that avoids being locked into a single label. The Dutch duo, formed in Amsterdam by Jesse van der Heijden and Oguzhan Guney, began operating under this name in the mid-2010s, following a previous stint as Piotr & Zhan. In 2015, they landed their first visible hit with Strobe EP on DFTD, a sub-label of Defected, and from there they began shaping a club language where tech house, disco, funk, soul, and jazz appear as building materials rather than mere ornaments.

No Art, a family around the booth

ANOTR's expansion is not explained solely by their records. In 2017, they launched No Art, a label, promoter, and creative platform that turned their relationship with the audience into a central part of the project. Their events seek to reduce the distance between the booth and the dancefloor, with a recognizable aesthetic and programming where the community carries as much weight as the lineup. The leap of No Art to a festival format arrived at NDSM-Werf in Amsterdam, reinforcing an identity that mixes music, unique spaces, and an idea of partying that is more emotional than ostentatious. That same philosophy has accompanied their sessions in contexts such as Amsterdam Dance Event, DC-10, Club Space Miami, Pacha Ibiza, and international stages linked to contemporary house.

From the expanded studio to the collective journey

On record, ANOTR has grown from functional club cuts to broader formats. The Reset opened an especially personal chapter: a No Art album with vocals by Abel Balder, live instrumentation, and influences of disco, funk, jazz, and indie integrated into their house base. From that period came Relax My Eyes, one of their most recognizable tracks and a habitual point of connection with their own events. Later, On A Trip consolidated a more colorful and collaborative writing style in 2025, while Withness, released in 2026, returned the focus to the shared experience of the dancefloor with guests such as 3DDY, PAMÉ, 54 Ultra, Wayne Snow, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. In parallel, sets like Boiler Room: Milan and their No Art Festival closings have finished positioning the duo as one of the European references capable of taking fine-groove house to a massive scale without losing intimacy.
