Northeast euphoria with a trance pulse

The energy of a packed tent at Creamfields and the nostalgia of 90s trance have made Ben Hemsley one of the most recognizable figures of the new British rave wave. His language starts from club house, but moves naturally towards euphoric melodies, tech house beats, hard dance accelerations, and a very present memory of UK rave culture. In his sets, he does not act as a genre purist, but as a direct-impact DJ: he seeks tension, emotional buildup, and communion with a large dance floor.

North Shields, Radio 1 and the leap in scale

Raised in North Shields, near Newcastle upon Tyne, he began producing music autodidactically as a teenager, marked by the dance and trance compilations of the nineties that played in his family environment. His first visibility came with Caress Me, associated with the circle of Lee Foss and Repopulate Mars, and with a series of releases that established his name within the British house scene. The artistic relationship with Patrick Topping, who supported early material like NE29 and released King of Darkness on Trick, helped place him in a clubbing network highly connected to the northeast of England.

The turning point came at Creamfields, especially with his 2021 and 2022 performances. Through 2 You, released by Ministry of Sound, received strong support from BBC Radio 1 and became one of the tracks that defined his rise. Later came tracks like Bebé Música, Love, Peace & Harmony, and Erase Me, the latter linked to the more openly trance-oriented turn of his production. In 2022, he signed an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 and in 2023 he was recognized as Best Producer at DJ Mag's Best of British.

Bebé, Ibiza and a massive rave identity

With the label bebé, Hemsley opened his own space to release music and project a scene akin to his mix of house, trance, hard house, and old school euphoria. His subsequent discography expanded that framework with Every Little Thing, IBIZA, Closer with Chenai, Tidal with Rose Gray, Angel, and the collaboration Is It Beautiful with Armin van Buuren and Lucy Pullin for A State of Trance 2025. The result is a catalog that alternates between festival anthems, far-reaching vocals, and tools designed for high-intensity sets.

Ibiza has been key to that consolidation. After his residency at Ibiza Rocks, the leap to Amnesia Ibiza reinforced his position as a headliner for a new generation of rave audiences; in 2026, he also appears as a weekly resident of NRG on the Amnesia terrace during August and September. With sold-out tours, performances at The Warehouse Project, Blackstone Street Warehouse, and major festivals, Ben Hemsley occupies an increasingly central place within the intersection of trance revival, British house, and massive club culture.
