The pocket, not the drop

On the Dutch hard house, UK garage, and trance dancefloors, Freddi has made the pulse the center of the session: not the textbook breakdown, but the instant the body enters the groove and the room stops looking at their phones. Based in Amsterdam and booked by Meanwhile, he crosses genres without a fixed recipe and sustains the energy with percussion, bass, and a raw forward drive, both in clubs and multi-hour sets.

From classical piano to the kick that arrives last

He started by writing and publishing classical piano pieces, with melody and harmony as the axis. Electronic music reached him primarily through Nils Frahm; back then, programming drums felt foreign to him. Today, the process is reversed. First, toms and percussion—often from a West African library—converse with a Minimoog or FEM BASO bass; only when that dialogue works does the kick enter. After a year and a half of DJing on real dancefloors, he understood that the moment can be defined by the pocket, not the drop. Born and raised in Culemborg, he arrives at the booth with a composer's ear and a dancefloor obsession.

Misschien, Method 808 and the Rapid Trax label

The public push came in 2024 with his remix of Misschien (Kwijt) by Gotu Jim, a Dutch pop hit that earned him support from Benwal and TLM Airlines. In October of that year, he released the EP They Don't See The Work on TNT Recordings, featuring the title track and I Don't Wanna. In April 2025, the Motive EP arrived on Rude Flex Records, with Motive and Listen, closer to UK garage. The Bendi EP with Benwal on Method 808 (August 2025) brought Bendi (So Good) and the B-side Drum's Dance, the track where he first let heavy percussion lead a release. This was followed by the Wrong EP with LAMMER and, in January 2026, Bodies with Kara Okay on Rapid Trax (the label of DART), featuring Say My Name—born in the Armada studios from a tom idea—and Everybody. In May 2026, the Insula EP with NewTone on Hot Meal Records condensed a percussive tech house, without big breaks, written in two songwriting camps—one on an island near Amsterdam—and named after the brain region that processes body awareness.

Lowlands, BLOOM and the Meanwhile circuit

At Lowlands 2025, he played at Het Magazijn. During Amsterdam Dance Event 2025, he was part of BLOOM, the live project by Into the Woods on the BUD × Rhino stage, alongside AUTOFLOWER, Essy, KELLAR, and NewTone. He has performed at Lofi (Amsterdam) and Mondo Disko (Madrid), and his material has received support from Job Jobse, Kettama, Rozie, and Auramatic. The studio filter is deliberately simple: move before you think. If it doesn't move, it doesn't come out.
