Duct tape, Westchase and a handmade label

The name ChaseWest comes from Westchase, the suburb north of Tampa where he grew up after being born in Beirut. It was there he learned to DJ, and the rap of Mac Miller, Odd Future or Drake blended with his first DJing attempts. That tension between hip hop swagger and dancefloor groove still defines his sets: dirty basslines, character-filled samples and a house sound that moves with block attitude, not aseptic catalog vibes.

DistroKid, Pawsa and the Chaste Records plan

While a student at the University of South Florida, he moved to Ohio for an internship and started producing in earnest. He uploaded his first track with a Photoshop-made cover to DistroKid and the video surpassed 1.6 million views. The decisive push came from Pawsa, mentor and friend, who insisted he treat music as art—sound, image and message—and to found his own label. Thus Chaste Records was born in 2021: every cut features a handmade illustration, characters and a visual universe as recognizable as the duct tape that runs across his covers.

Club Space, Bibi and the US circuit

At Club Space in Miami, he heard Michael Bibi play his Love + Happiness while he was in the crowd: the moment that solidified the label. The support from Bibi and Jamie Jones, his debut at Revival New York—including a remix by Marco Strous—and his own parties at Floyd Miami, New York or Chicago put him on the map of American tech house and minimal tech. In 2023 Dirty Vinyl Pusha reaffirmed that skippy sound; later TRY, SWEETH3ART, D.O.P.E. or Botega Vendeta (with Mandragora) expanded the catalog, with forays into indie dance as well.

From Factory Town to Coachella, via Solid Grooves

Miami became his base. After a first Miami Music Week showcase at Jolene Sound Room, ChaseWest Presents Chaste jumped to the Cypress End of Factory Town with names like Beltran, Max Dean or Omri. He has played for Solid Grooves at Club Space and at DC10 in Ibiza, and in October 2025 he debuted on the British label with Scream!. That year also saw his debut at Coachella, his set at III Points and dates like EDC Orlando. In 2026 the calendar remains packed: Factory Town Music Week, III Points, CRSSD or We Belong Here.

A label that is no longer just his

Chaste has gone from being a vehicle for his own music to a community platform: collaborations with Hayley May (Playing With Fire) or Haven Star, and in 2026 the chapter opened to third parties with KinAhau and WIFE MATERIAL. After a public hiatus in 2025 to take care of himself, he has returned to the road with the same commitment: simple tracks of rhythm and soul, parties designed as a safe space and a house sound that mixes rock, rap and club without asking for permission.
