Beginnings and Training

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike is the stage name of the famous Belgian electronic music duo formed by brothers Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios. Born in Belgium with Greek heritage and raised in the Flemish municipality of Willebroek, both developed their passion for music from a very early age. Dimitri took his first steps as a DJ during his adolescence, playing in small local clubs and collaborating on the Belgian radio station BeatFM. At the end of the 1990s, he embarked on a journey through Europe that led him to reside in Mallorca and Greece before settling permanently in Ibiza in 2003. On the white island, he secured important residencies at iconic clubs such as Privilege and Space, forging his sonic identity. Some time later, his younger brother, Michael, joined the project, combining Dimitri's technical skills on the decks with his overwhelming presence as an MC and producer, which officially consolidated the birth of the duo in 2007.

The Rise with Tomorrowland and Smash The House

The definitive turning point in their career occurred at the end of the 2000s. After producing various successful remixes and releasing their first official singles, they caught the attention of the Belgian mega-festival Tomorrowland. In 2010, they founded their own record label, Smash The House, and received the historic commission to compose the first official anthem for the event: Tomorrow (Give in to the Night). This monumental milestone forged an unbreakable alliance that transformed them into the undisputed global ambassadors and resident DJs of the festival par excellence. This first great success was followed by other memorable anthems that marked the history of electronic music, such as The Way We See The World (2011), Tomorrow Changed Today (2012), and the acclaimed Chattahoochee (2013).

Peak of Success and Global Dominance

The duo's definitive consecration came driven by their astonishing live shows and their releases in the Big Room House scene. In 2014, they dominated the world with Tremor, an overwhelming collaboration with prodigy Martin Garrix, and swept festivals with Mammoth alongside Moguai. The following year, they reached the top spot on the official charts with The Hum, a massive hit whose music video starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Charlie Sheen. Their enormous capacity to electrify crowds with participatory dynamics like the famous Crowd Control led them to sell out entire stadiums with their Bringing the Madness tour and to be crowned, in 2015, as the World's Number 1 DJ in the DJ Mag magazine poll, a historic milestone for a duo, which they managed to repeat in 2019.

Expansion and Industry Impact

Over the years, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have demonstrated immense versatility by collaborating with global pop, rap, and R&B stars, such as David Guetta, Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Daddy Yankee, and the iconic composer Hans Zimmer. In addition to forming the acclaimed supergroup 3 Are Legend with their friend Steve Aoki, they have expanded their brand into other disciplines; Dimitri has participated as an actor in several Hollywood films and they have even ventured into video game franchises. Today, backed by the agency One World Artists, the duo continues to reign in the EDM firmament, maintaining historic summer residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza and leaving their mark on entire generations in each new and magical edition of Tomorrowland.
