Phonky Tribu, the fire that wasn't in the plan

In September 2022, Phonky Tribu—released on Speedmaster Records—surpassed one and a half million daily streams. The producer, who grew up in the underground parties of Bogotá since he was seventeen, found out about the phenomenon through screenshots: he didn't have TikTok. By early November, he was already in Berlin negotiating a permanent move: he left his Sound Engineering degree at the Universidad de San Buenaventura halfway through and crossed the Atlantic without a safety net. The track, born as a lo-fi experiment with the cowbell of a Roland TR-808, launched his international tour. A year earlier, he had sent it to the label without expecting anything like this; a year later, he was making a living from music.

Against All Odds, the album that gave permission to his own sound

He describes his palette as fast techno trance with a contemporary twist: hard trance, techno, and euro-techno with an euphoric pulse, anchored to the melody. He produces in FL Studio—often with a laptop and headphones in his suitcase—and has lowered the tempo from the initial 160 BPM so the harmonies can breathe. The debut album Against All Odds (October 2024, Speedmaster / A Million) condensed that journey: eight tracks with Lucy Dye, CAIVA, Spencer Elmer, Upper90, and DJ Traytex, influences from the 90s and 2000s, and the decision to play his own productions without asking the dancefloor for permission. Pieces like Under the Moon with Part Time Killer, I Got It for You, and I Want Your Love alongside Oliver Heldens confirmed that the leap was not a viral accident. In the booth, his debut at Boiler Room—Ghent, September 2024—was the milestone he had been waiting for: he chose the offer and the room responded.

TRIBE, the frog that returned to Bogotá

Azul was born as an intro for that session and ended up being, in June 2025, the inaugural single of TRIBE, a label and multidisciplinary platform under his direction, designed to give creative freedom to artists with or without a follower count. The logo—a frog linked to Colombian biodiversity—already travels on hats and emojis among the audience. That same year, he closed the circle with two sold-out arena performances in Bogotá and recognition from the City Council; he also closed a stage at Awakenings Festival and added Glitch, AVA, Dreamstate Los Angeles, and Time Warp Brasil to a schedule that reached nearly a hundred dates. In 2026, he cut back the tour—from one hundred to about sixty performances—to return to the studio: the LIFE project (soul, mind, body) and tracks like Hold On or reborn (alma) mark a more conscious stage, with Berlin as a base and Bogotá as an origin he never lets go of.
