Percussive Mediterranean for large dancefloors

Afro house percussion, oriental-rooted melodies, and a hedonistic take on Mediterranean house define GROSSOMODDO, a French duo that emerged in late 2023 in the south of France. The project brings together Damien N-Drix and STV, two producers with previous experience in club electronics, and channels that expertise into a warmer, vocal, and rhythmic language designed to work both in open-air afternoon sessions and high-pressure DJ booths.

From a previous collaboration to an alias with its own identity

Before settling on the name GROSSOMODDO, its two members had already worked together on tracks like Let It Ring and Treize, a period that made their affinity for recognizable melodic resources and dancefloor impact clear. The project's consolidation arrived with 1001 Nuits, released in November 2023 on Make The Girls Dance Records, HUGEL's label. The track placed their sound in a very specific spot: organic percussion, Arabic motifs, house basslines, and a direct construction that never loses its festive component. Support from names like BLOND:ISH, Gorgon City, HUGEL, and Eran Hersh helped amplify the release, which reached the top 5 of Afro House on Beatport and high positions on iTunes in Qatar and Turkey.

A catalog of edits, collaborations, and house with a global accent

Since that start, GROSSOMODDO has maintained a production output closely linked to the DJ circuit: originals, remixes, bootleg edits, and collaborations that connect Afro House with Melodic House, Latin house, and a palette of percussion inspired by Balkan, oriental, and Mediterranean sounds. Their catalog includes Andalucia and Majnuna with HUGEL, Madre Vida with Alé Kumá, Nomad, A Paga on Cr2 Records, Bohemian Soul, Iag Bari (Yababa) with ARKADYAN and Fanfare Ciocărlia, Rulay, Sofa, Kaduwa with Lizwi and Sam Blacky, Halab, Hadid, Toledo, and WAQI. The succession of releases on Make The Girls Dance Records, Cr2 Records, and d:vision reinforces a recognizable line: immediate club music, but with a traveling and highly visual sonic imagery.

From the south of France to EDC, Ibiza, and Miami

Live, the duo relies on mixes of vocal house, dense percussion, popular edits, and an energy designed to generate a quick response on the dancefloor. Their growth has been reflected in performances at venues and festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Pacha Ibiza, Factory Town Miami, Club Space Miami, Cova Santa Ibiza, Surf Club Dubai, Amnesia France, and Papaya Croatia. With the motto Mediterranean Music for sexy people as an aesthetic statement, GROSSOMODDO occupies a clear position within the new European afro-house wave: close to the international circuit, DJ-oriented, and increasingly identifiable by its mix of groove, melody, and Mediterranean sensuality.
