The euphoric beat of doof has turned Hannah Laing into one of the most visible Scottish figures in contemporary hard dance. Her language combines high-energy techno, luminous trance, and old-school hard house, with big melodies, catchy vocals, and build-ups designed for peak time. Born in Dundee and raised in a family environment marked by 90s house and trance, she developed an early relationship with rave culture before taking that sentimental education to pub booths, parties, and small venues.

Ibiza as a school of endurance

Her first professional DJ job came at age 18 in Arbroath. She later consolidated her craft in San Antonio, Ibiza, where residencies and long sets gave her a direct reading of the dancefloor: maintaining energy, pacing the peaks, and reacting to the crowd in real time. For years, she balanced that progression with her job as a dental nurse, a double life that ended in 2022 when the impact of her performances, especially at Creamfields, made it viable to dedicate herself entirely to music.

Big songs for fast dancefloors

Laing entered the international circuit with an increasingly recognizable production style. Her rave reinterpretation of "Murder On The Dancefloor" caught the attention of top-tier names and paved the way for releases on labels such as Spinnin' Deep, TRICK, Sola, WUGD, and Polydor. In 2023, "Good Love," alongside RoRo, brought her sound to a massive audience by reaching the UK top 10, while tracks like "Get Busy," "Party All The Time," "FWTDJ (All Night Long)," "I Need It More," "Tell Me," and "Ibizacore" reinforced an identity centered on the rush, rave nostalgia, and punchiness.

Doof as a label, community, and territory of its own

With doof, her label and creative platform, Hannah Laing has shaped a recognizable musical brand: fast, direct, and emotional. The EP Into The Doof in 2024 and Into The Bounce in 2025 expanded that universe with collaborations and nods to techno, hard house, and trance. The same idea has extended to live performances with label nights, sets at Creamfields, fabric, The Warehouse Project, DC-10, Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, EDC Las Vegas, and other landmark spaces.

Dundee at the center of the map

Her bond with Dundee has gone from being a biographical detail to a career axis. With Doof in the Park, Laing brought her sound back to Camperdown Park in her own festival that gathered thousands of people and connected hard dance legends with local talent. The opening of doof Studios in Dundee, promoted alongside community organizations, reinforces that social dimension: creating access, training, and opportunity for new generations of artists. In the midst of international expansion, her current position combines the profile of a headliner, club producer, and a figurehead for an intergenerational rave community.
