Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Héctor Oaks took his first steps in electronic music immersed in the underground culture of his hometown. From a very early age, he developed a deep connection with the physical format, making vinyl his preferred tool and the undisputed hallmark of his artistic identity. During his youth, he spent countless hours exploring record stores in Madrid, forging an encyclopedic knowledge of musical genres ranging from classic techno to electro and ghetto tech. This unwavering passion for the art of mixing the old-fashioned way quickly set him apart in a scene increasingly dominated by the digital format, allowing him to build an impeccable mixing technique and a visceral, dynamic style.

The Move to Berlin and International Rise

Seeking to expand his horizons and immerse himself in the world capital of techno, Héctor decided to move to Berlin. It was in this city that his career experienced meteoric growth. His dedication and talent led him to become a resident DJ at the legendary club Herrensauna and, subsequently, at Bassiani in Tbilisi, Georgia, two of the most respected institutions in the contemporary techno scene. His marathon sessions, characterized by overwhelming energy, impeccable selections, and three- and four-deck mixing, cemented his reputation as one of the most exceptional selectors of his generation. In Berlin, he also found the perfect ecosystem to develop his facet as a producer, releasing tracks that combine the forcefulness of industrial techno with the emotion and rawness of the old school.

OAKS, KAARL and his Discographic Legacy

As a fundamental pillar of the electronic community, Héctor Oaks not only shines in the booths, but also as a curator and founder of his own record labels: OAKS and KAARL. Through these platforms, he has released not only his own productions (under his real name and his alias Cadency), but also works by like-minded artists who share his avant-garde and purist vision. His releases are regularly acclaimed by critics and supported by the heavyweights of the industry. His commitment to quality and authenticity has led him to perform at the most prestigious festivals and clubs on the planet, including Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Berghain, and Boiler Room.
