A muscular, melodic house pulse designed for long DJ booth sessions defines the career of Hot Since 82. His language combines the depth of deep house, the functional punch of tech house, and a distinctly British sensibility for building tension without losing elegance. Before becoming a regular name at international festivals and clubs, his relationship with music was forged in the nightlife culture of Barnsley: he began frequenting clubs as a teenager and by age 17 was already holding marathon sessions of up to 12 hours in his local area.

The accident that ignited a signature sound

The project took off after an episode that became part of his mythology: at an afterparty, a music cut ended with one of his works-in-progress playing from an iPhone, an immediate reaction on the dancefloor, and subsequent contact with Noir. From there came Let It Ride, released on Noir Music in 2011, the starting point of a trajectory that very soon caught the attention of the house scene. In 2013, he consolidated that leap with Little Black Book on Moda Black, an album that brought together originals, collaborations, and remixes, and with a reinterpretation of Green Velvet's Bigger Than Prince that reinforced his presence on charts and in other DJs' record bags.

Knee Deep In Sound as an extension of his booth

In 2014, he founded Knee Deep In Sound, a label that became a central platform for his artistic identity and a showcase for a darker, more physical, and emotional club vision. From there, he articulated his own releases, mixes, and a community of like-minded producers. The same decade brought media and booth milestones: appearances on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, cover features in Mixmag and DJ Mag, residencies and dates in Ibiza linked to venues like Pacha, Space, and Amnesia, as well as performances at high-profile festivals and stages such as Glastonbury, Coachella, and Creamfields.

Large formats without losing underground tension

His career has grown around formats conceived as a complete experience: the TAKEN series, his long sessions with gradual narrative, the set for Cercle on the terrace of Culture Club Revelin in Dubrovnik, and the presentation of music from a hot air balloon exemplify that visual and expansive vocation. 8-track, released in 2019, opened an especially personal chapter and donated proceeds to MIND, while Recovery, in 2020, expanded the project's range with collaborations from Boy George, Jamie Jones, Rudimental, Kittin, and other heavyweights. In 2026, he maintains that line with Obsessions, announced for September 4th on Knee Deep In Sound, a new stage that connects his house roots with mature, direct production oriented toward demanding dancefloors.
