Open booth in the Dekmantel tunnel

At the Dekmantel Boiler Room, the needles have barely dropped and Kamma is already marking the bass, clapping, and singing disco vocals as if the sheet-metal tunnel were an intimate party. That mix of warm house, acid, afro percussion, and strange techno is her signature: she doesn't stay in the same register for two hours. The mold was cast at Trouw, the Amsterdam club where she met Masalo in 2009 and where Antal and Hunee showed her that one could move from disco to the most abstract sound without breaking the dance.

She grew up in the east of the city, with Chinese-Indonesian heritage and two DJ parents from the eighties and nineties circuit, Dr. Tiong and DJ Sylvia, regulars at the RoXY and owners of a collection of some 30,000 jazz, funk, disco, and house vinyls. She started DJing in clubs around 2014; by 2015 she already had a residency in Ibiza, at La Escollera and Cova Santa, and dates at Amnesia.

Brighter Days and Doka, the east that became a scene

Since 2014, she has run Brighter Days with Masalo, a party and mix series that has gone from house after-parties to full nights at Claire, Levenslang, or Doka, with guests like Hunee, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Ge-ology, Osunlade, DJ Spinna, Colleen Cosmo Murphy, or Todd Terje. Together they promoted Doka, Amsterdam's first high-fidelity listening bar, in the basement of the Volkshotel, and maintained a program on Worldwide FM.

That spirit traveled to Dimensions, Liverpool Disco Festival, DGTL, Flow, Primavera Sound, Way Out West, Kala, Kinetic, ADE, and The Cause's Mixmag Lab. The 2019 Dekmantel Boiler Room remains her calling card; later they closed the festival's own Greenhouse and debuted at The Lot Radio.

From Snow In April to Brighter Discs

As a producer, she debuted with Snow In April, a downtempo piece with hypnotic synthesizers included as an extra seven-inch in Beyond Space And Time 002, Antal's compilation for Rainbow Disco Club and Rush Hour. In 2023, they curated the Brighter Days compilation for Rush Hour, with rarities, local producers, and their K&M Edits of For Your Love and Baladoun. Neon Ocean was released on Sounds Familiar. In 2026, they opened their label Brighter Discs with Can't Fake The Feeling, a vocal by Renee Mohannon licensed from the Joe Smooth track: club house in the Club Mix and percussive dub in the Unity Dub.

Dance II Care, the dancefloor beyond the night

Between 2021 and 2024, she balanced clinical rotations in Medicine with tours and graduated as a doctor. From that contrast, Dance II Care was born, a charity cycle at Doka, Corsica Studios, Sacre, and Kiosk Radio whose proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders, sometimes with her parents in the booth. Today her sets lean more towards club electronics, without letting go of the open groove, community, and good vibes that define Brighter Days from Amsterdam to the world.
