The nights at Danzû and Hostage have turned Kiko Fernández into a highly recognizable figure in the Mallorcan electronic circuit: a selector of patient construction, with a sober reading of the dancefloor and a direct link to the island's clubbing scene. His relationship with music began before the DJ booth, with listening habits marked by indie rock and instruments like drums and guitar, until the figure of the DJ captured him in his adolescence. At 16, he began practicing with basic equipment, and at 18, he signed his first gig at Klan, in the Puerto de Alcúdia area, an early experience that established a career of craft and consistency.

Mallorca before and after the big scale

The growth of his career is linked to a scene that moved from local clubs to increasingly ambitious formats. In his early years, he found a turning point by connecting with Manu Sánchez and the Danzû environment, first through parties and festivals in Alcúdia and, after the pandemic, by joining the team more broadly. From there, he has not only performed as a DJ: he has also worked in logistics, artist booking, and event setup, a dimension that explains his practical knowledge of the night from the inside. This evolution has led him to share lineups with heavyweights of house and techno in contexts such as Social Club Mallorca, House of Son Amar, Es Gremi, AMOK, or parties linked to Origen Fest.

The Hostage cage and the hard pulse

As a resident and one of the promoters of Hostage, Kiko Fernández has participated in the consolidation of a proposal focused on techno, hard techno, and hard-hitting sounds in Palma de Mallorca. The brand, born in 2023, is distinguished by a Berlin-inspired club aesthetic, a DJ booth conceived as a cage, and a dancefloor policy that limits photos and videos to reinforce immersion. In that context, he is usually in charge of the warm-ups, where he avoids rushing the BPM and opts for a selection with plenty of old-school material, progressive tension, and control of the atmosphere before the harder sections of the night.

Techno, tech house, and resident craft

His sound moves between techno, tech house, melodic house, and more organic registers when the context allows. Among his references are Chris Liebing, Luca Agnelli, Mathias Kaden, Paul Kalkbrenner, Joris Voorn, or Rodríguez Jr., a palette that helps to understand his taste for melody, functional punch, and long developments. Without relying on a consolidated discography of his own, his position has been built mainly from the booth, residencies, and event production. This profile places him as a trusted artist within the Balearic ecosystem: less oriented toward the producer's showcase and more focused on reading rooms, sustaining brands, and growing a local scene that today programs international names unthinkable years ago.
