The energy of the nineties British rave scene runs through Kyle Starkey's universe with a naturalness that is far from nostalgic: his sets and productions recover the momentum of hard house, trance, and the most physical house without turning it into a simple retro postcard. Originally from Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire, he grew up surrounded by piano house, eurodance, rave tapes, and classic synthesis references that shaped a sensibility very much oriented towards the dancefloor. Before establishing his current language, he went through an initial period closer to tech house, with early cuts like 'Lip Reader' and 'Get On Now', released in 2022, and a first residency linked to Nghtwrk in Chester.

The turn towards Trade and Tidy Trax

The turning point came when he began to dive into the history of Trade, the legacy of Tony De Vit, and the Tidy Trax catalog. That discovery shifted his sound towards higher tempos, elastic kicks, bouncy basslines, nineties stabs, and melodies of direct euphoria. 'Your Party', released by Tidy Trax in 2023, marked that change of phase and paved the way for a series of productions that have circulated strongly among European and Australian selectors. Since then, his music has appeared on labels such as Agrio Tracks, Bebé Recordings, Correspondant, Southern Fried Records, Armada Music, Shall Not Fade, Another Rhythm, TNT, and Warehouse Project Records.

Dancefloor, collaboration, and global calendar

Starkey's identity has consolidated at a point of contact between contemporary hard house, euphoric trance, and British rave culture, with sets that combine nineties gems and his own material with a modern reading. His collaborations with DART, Inafekt, Sam Alfred, Da Loops, Kara Okay, and Entasia have reinforced his presence within a generation that is pushing these sounds into large-format clubs and festivals. Tracks like 'Tryton', 'I Need U', 'Bonita Bounce', 'Feel My Desire', 'Ultimate Rave', 'IFTS', 'Love Euphoria (I Feel Good)', 'Do You Love', and 'I Believe' show a direct, fast, and luminous formula, designed for moments of maximum pressure in the booth.

A name established in the new wave

In a few years, he has gone from a local promise to a regular figure in international circuits, with dates in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ibiza, Australia, and festivals such as Pitch, Creamfields, Paradise City, Hideout, Terminal V, and Tomorrowland. His appearance at Boiler Room x Glitch Festival and his full sets published by festival platforms have further expanded his reach. Kyle Starkey's current position is understood within a new school that does not limit itself to imitating the past: it takes the memory of hard house and pushes it towards a faster, hedonistic, and global dancefloor.
