Keep on Going and the percussive pulse

Minimal hit Marlie like a plot twist, not a catalog label: an East London warehouse called Keep on Going, endless afters, and the habit of telling a story with her selection. Born in Sydney, she crossed Europe in 2013 and returned to Australia with the certainty that the other side of the world wasn't closed off. Her visa took her back to London, where the underground offered her a map of subgenres and an ear for percussive minimal house and techno. Years of elite artistic gymnastics—almost daily training since age five, state and national competitions, three knee surgeries, and retirement at nineteen—translated into sacrifice, focus, and a sober booth presence: the body is part of the instrument.

Roots, from the Sydney bunkers to Fabric

In 2016 she returned to Sydney and found an underground scene that was still small. In 2017 she founded Roots, first in parks and war bunkers, then on boats, in warehouses, and at off-the-map parties. The project crossed over to Prague and London: in 2019, the first London Roots at Hackney Marshes brought together about 600 people around minimal. After the pandemic, Roots settled into Hoxton Docks, with several rooms and a supper club. The club brand reached Room 2 at Fabric. In parallel, her name solidified in booths like DC10, FUSE, and Shelter, and in the Australian circuit of Club 77, where she also organized Roots parties.

Micro house for big dancefloors

Minimal hasn't gone away; the international calendar has widened it. Today her sets lean on deep basslines and a micro house pulse, with flashes of techno, electro, and acid, and the occasional jazz or instrumental cut. 2024 left early milestones: Glastonbury, Unum Festival, and a ninety-minute set at EDC Las Vegas. 2025 was a continuous tour through the United States, South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia: Sunwaves in Mamaia, Glastonbury and Unum again, her first long tour of South America, the Aya festival in Jericoacoara, and the year-end closing at La Brisa, Bali. SoundCloud holds the records of that stage, such as the Sunwaves 35 and 37 sessions, the Gottwood Mix 75, and the monthly show First Gear on OpenLab Radio.

Ibiza, Motel Marlie, and the 2026 map

After twelve years with London as her home, in 2025 she moved her base to Ibiza: less weekly airport time, more sea, and a residency at Nocturna. 2026 opens with festival debuts, Motel Marlie—her first island residency—, Gottwood, Sunwaves, and Josh Baker's You&Me at Amnesia. Worldwide booking, except for the Americas, moved to the Amsterdam-based agency Meanwhile; in North and South America, she remains with Spyros Bonikos. When she returns to Australia, the gesture is the open-to-close set, which is why Club 77 remains her own home turf. In the studio, she is announcing original music: the selector who built a community with Roots wants to leave a mark on vinyl and digital.
