R&B for ravers, bedroom-made

Omar+ has turned that phrase into a recognizable sound: early morning R&B vocals over British house and 4x4 UK garage, with a slightly pitched-up vocal chain that functions more as a texture than a singer's showcase. He grew up in Radlett, on the outskirts of North London, with Brandy, Usher, and SWV in the family home, and with an ear also shaped by his Punjabi and Gujarati heritage. Trips to India—especially to Mumbai—left him with the pulse of the tabla, local festivals, and an idea of groove that later landed on the dancefloor.

Dance music came to him through friends, during jungle and drum and bass nights at fabric and The Cause. The definitive click was a house set by Logic1000 at Phonox. Until then, he produced pure R&B; by putting those vocals over what he heard every weekend, the crossover clicked.

Planet Plus, SAE and the jump to Atlantic

Before turning professional, he started Materials Engineering at Queen Mary University of London, dropped out after three months, and trained for two years in production at the SAE Institute London, while working in deliveries and warehouses. In parallel, he set up Planet Plus with a friend, house parties in kitchens, basements, and cheap London venues. A joke on TikTok—pretending he had leaked his address—forced him to upload an event at a 300-person venue in Shoreditch, and it sold out. After finishing SAE in December 2023, an Instagram message ended up at Atlantic Records UK. Back of the Club arrived, and in July 2025, his debut EP Open Your Eyes, written and produced at home with a laptop, mics, and headphones.

The commercial earthquake was Back It Up with Josh Baker: number 58 on the UK Singles Chart for 12 weeks and number 15 on the Dance chart. Make Believe with Luke Dean, via Insomniac, and later Back to the 305, received the Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 on Danny Howard's Dance Party. Collaborations with bullet tooth, Obskür, piri, Ben Sterling, and GEE LEE complete the circle, with support from Peggy Gou, Chris Stussy, Prospa, Jamie Jones, and MK.

Breakthrough, Rinse and the second phase

Mixmag placed him at number 17 on their 25 Breakthrough DJs of 2025; NME included him in the NME 100 of 2026; Beatport signed him to the Next Class of 2026. Live, he has performed at Reading and Leeds, Junction 2, Warehouse Project, ADE, Thuishaven, Eden Ibiza, Coachella, Red Rocks, CircoLoco at DC10, EDC Las Vegas at Stereo Bloom, and Miami Music Week, in addition to a monthly residency on Rinse FM and his first sold-out headline show in London. In 2026, he continues at Atlantic with Can't Slow Down, written, produced, and sung by him, and with The Replay Group as management. The DJ booth has won over the external studio: the method remains the same as it was years ago, only now the dancefloor answers by singing the choruses.
