A Geordie pulse for big dancefloors

The intensity of Northeast England and the Ibiza rave culture run through the career of Patrick Topping, one of the most recognizable British names in modern house. His first set came in 2009 at a working-class social club in Newcastle; years of local promotion, small booths, and studio production followed. That journey crystallized in 2013 with a release on Hottrax, Jamie Jones' label, and his entry into the Paradise environment, a residency he held until 2019 that gave him a decisive platform at DC-10 Ibiza.

Trick as a club identity

In 2019, he launched Trick, a label and event series conceived as a direct extension of his sets: frontal percussion, elastic basslines, memorable vocals, and unadorned rave energy. The brand has surpassed a hundred releases, organized festivals in Tenerife, Newcastle, and Budapest, and has brought stages or residencies to spaces like DC10, Creamfields, The Warehouse Project, Drumsheds, EDC Orlando, PICA Melbourne, and The Concourse Project in Austin. Between 2022 and 2025, he also solidified his presence in Ibiza with a three-year residency at Hï Ibiza.

Classic-rooted house, high-voltage techno

His language starts from Chicago house and Detroit techno, but functions with a very British reading of the peak-time dancefloor: tense grooves, direct builds, and a cheeky edge that avoids rigidity. He has collaborated continuously with Green Velvet on tracks like Voicemail, When Is Now, and Mad Motion, and worked with Kevin Saunderson on Frisk, a track that appeared on the official soundtrack of The Batman. As a remixer, he has bridged the underground with massive names, including The Streets, Sam Fender, Robyn, and Calvin Harris.

Awards, catalog, and recent stage

His impact is also measured in recognition: he was named Best British DJ at DJ Mag's Best of British awards in 2022, won Tech House DJ of the Year in 2018, and in 2014 he won Breakthrough DJ and Track of the Season at the DJ Awards Ibiza for Forget, a track that was also highlighted by DJ Mag as Track of the Year. His catalog exceeds one hundred original tracks and remixes, with Be Sharp Say Nowt certified silver in the UK in 2021. After reinforcing his club focus with All The DJs on Solid Grooves, in 2026 he continued that line with Pop That / Boom Shakalak on Hellbent and new dancefloor-oriented releases, keeping Trick as a platform for his music and for a generation of emerging producers.
