Forty-eight hours to top Beatport

The Journey LP didn't even need two days to place RUZE at number 1 on Beatport across all genres. Released in April 2024 by the Dutch label PIV Records, the debut album condensed a decade of studio work into nine house tracks with groovy bass, precise percussion, and soulful vocals. The teasers Mister DJ, which reached number 1 on Minimal Deep Tech on Traxsource, and Trip, backed by BBC Radio 1, announced a record that consolidated the Birmingham duo as one of the most recognizable signatures of contemporary British house.

From Digbeth to the circuit: Tomorrowland, Fabric and Pacha

Jimmy and Curt met in high school and have spent over fifteen years refining the project, with stops in dubstep, deep house, progressive, and tech house before anchoring themselves in a vocal, funk, and dancefloor-oriented house. The creative neighborhood of Digbeth and early dates in the UK—Egg London, warm-up residencies, and local clubs—preceded their international leap. After being featured on Beatportal's Ones to Watch, Chris Stussy signed them to Bolt for PIV's fifth anniversary and the Chapters EP (2021) was born: Mindset went viral and Hardwire (2022) topped the charts again. Since then, they have played Tomorrowland, Fabric in London, Pacha Barcelona, Womb in Tokyo, The Warehouse Project, Shelter in Amsterdam, Spy Bar in Chicago, and the Mixmag Lab in London, as well as dates with Defected in Ibiza, Hï Ibiza, and PIV Tuesdays at Cova Santa. Pete Tong and Danny Howard have taken their tracks to Radio 1; in the Netherlands, they have also been played on Radio 538.

Staff Only Records and the house that chases the feeling

The catalog has expanded through Hot Creations, Chaos, Factory 93, AWD, Dansu Discs, Snatch!, Soulfuric/Defected, and South. On Factory 93, Sample Inspector —alongside Robbie Doherty and Chesster— and Does Ya Momma Know? opened up a deeper register; The Rider, on Range, stayed at the top of Hype and Minimal/Deep Tech for months. Collaborations with Mr. Belt & Wezol (Ain't Nobody, over a million streams in one month), Kyle Walker (6AM, on Dub Or Die), and Danny Howard have widened the duo's reach without letting go of the groove. In October 2025, they inaugurated Staff Only Records with the compilation RUZE and Friends, alongside Josh Butler, Ryan Nicholls, Chesster, Ranger Trucco, and THEOS, and a launch party during ADE. Represented by Earth Agency, they continue to bet on warm and rhythmic club house: bass at the front, vocals at the center, and the dancefloor as the only compass.
