Eindhoven as a starting point

Showtek is the Dutch duo formed by brothers Wouter Janssen and Sjoerd Janssen, originally from Eindhoven, in the province of North Brabant. Active since the early 2000s, they started out linked to techno and hard dance before becoming an international reference for hardstyle. Their identity combines rave energy, direct melodies, punchy kicks, and a studio mentality designed for large sound systems.

Dutch Master Works and the hardstyle era

Their first major phase was associated with Dutch Master Works, their own label from which they released Today Is Tomorrow in 2007 and Analogue Players in a Digital World in 2009. Those albums helped consolidate the long-play format within hardstyle, with tracks that remain present in the genre's memory, such as FTS, Puta Madre, The Colour Of The Harder Styles, We Speak Music, or World Is Mine. Their presence at Qlimax, Defqon.1, and the Q-dance circuit positioned them as a key name in the expansion of the Dutch hard sound.

From hard hits to global big room

Starting in the 2010s, the duo opened their palette towards electro house, big room, and festival EDM. That phase produced hits like Cannonball with Justin Prime, Booyah with We Are Loud and Sonny Wilson, We Like To Party, and Bad alongside David Guetta and Vassy. They also collaborated with Tiësto, Hardwell, Noisecontrollers, Bassjackers, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, and Timmy Trumpet. In 2013, they launched Skink Records, a platform that reinforced their creative independence and allowed them to move between genres without abandoning their dancefloor DNA.

360, comeback, and SHOWTEKNO

In 2023, they opened the 360 concept with 360 Yellow, an album focused on their house, big room, and melodic side. That same year, they reappeared at Qlimax with a hardstyle set, fifteen years after their previous performance at the event, and in 2024 they completed the comeback with 360 Blue, a fifteen-track album oriented towards their hard roots. The recent phase adds SHOWTEKNO, a hard techno alias presented with music on Verknipt Records and cuts like Here We Fucking Tekno, I’m A Raver Baby, and Hypnotise. With international booking by Ace Agency, US representation by WME, and management by The Music Group, Showtek maintains a unique position: hardstyle pioneers, big room architects, and explorers of a more accelerated rave.
