From turntablism to high-impact house

Before establishing himself in the electronic scene, his relationship with the DJ booth was born from hip hop, soul, funk, and turntablism culture. He started mixing at 15, and that foundation is still present in his way of playing: fast mixes, precise changes, small scratch gestures, and an energy that keeps the dancefloor in tension. That rhythmic education, added to the influence of the house records that were part of his family environment, explains a career that unites archival knowledge and club impact.

Underground anthems and reference labels

Since his first releases in 2011, Sidney Charles has signed an extensive catalog on labels such as AVOTRE, 8bit, Truesoul, Hot Creations, Saved, Moon Harbour, DFTD, Eastenderz, PIV, Locus, No Art, and Do Not Sleep. Tracks like House Lessons, Warehouse Romance, All Night Long, Trip Advisor, and Rave Culture helped establish a raw, functional, and recognizable aesthetic. His name gained special traction in 2013, the year he stood out among the most played artists on the Resident Advisor charts, a reflection of a production style very present in the record bags of the underground scene.

Heavy House Society as his own territory

In addition to being a producer and DJ, Sidney Charles has reinforced his position as the head of Heavy House Society, a platform from which he promotes solid house music, clubs, and like-minded artists. The label has gathered his own releases and those of names such as Kolter, Luuk Van Dijk, Locklead, Madvilla, Luca Donzelli, and M-High, consolidating a community around heavy grooves, elastic basslines, and an idea of clubbing without artifice. His nights linked to the project have passed through spaces such as Watergate in Berlin.

From Ibiza to major international dancefloors

His journey has taken him through booths such as Amnesia Ibiza, DC10, Cova Santa, Input, Fabrik Madrid, The Warehouse Project, Mint Warehouse, clubs in the United States, and circuits in South America, as well as festivals and international programming. Currently, he maintains an active schedule and a firm presence in the global underground house scene, alternating releases, collaborations, and sets where bass, percussion, and the memory of the old school continue to mark the center of gravity.
