Boomtown, 20,000 people and the Night Bass laboratory

The Night Bass takeover at Boomtown 2018 remains the moment Taiki Nulight points to as the most special of his career: the first time he played in front of some 20,000 people. That was when his place on the dancefloor was fully understood. The British-Mongolian producer has turned the intersection of UK garage, house, and dubstep at 140 bpm into a recognizable signature, with dark basslines in the style of mid-2000s British dubstep and the club drive he helped define alongside AC Slater on the Los Angeles label.

The duo that split and the name that stayed

Before that leap, he formed the duo Taiki & Nulight with producer Secondcity. Together they released deep house and electro until a creative disagreement—he was leaning towards a heavier sound, his partner towards house—dissolved the project. From late 2014 onwards, he kept the name and worked solo. He started producing at 14, first with a trial version of FL Studio where he couldn't save projects, and later with Logic Pro, which remains his tool of choice. He spent his childhood in Mongolia, moved to the UK as a young child, and was raised primarily in England, with East Sussex and British club culture as his compass.

Murky Manor, radio, and the global circuit

The discovery of Night Bass was a turning point. On that label, he consolidated a decade of sharper bass house and released the album Murky Manor (2018). Collaborations and remixes multiplied: My Nu Leng, Chris Lorenzo, Cause & Affect, Tchami, Stanton Warriors, and commissions for Netsky, Zeds Dead, or Keys N Krates. Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and Mistajam supported him on BBC Radio 1. On stage, he has taken that sound to Pacha (Ibiza), Electric Forest (Michigan), Fabric, and Ministry of Sound, in addition to tours across Australia, Japan, Europe, and the United States.

Chaos, Polydor, and the return to 140

In 2024, Mixmag included him among the 25 producers who defined the year. He signed an album with Polydor and Chaos, and in November he released the EP Stay In Your Lane, featuring P Money, Hamdi, Capo Lee, and a more vocal-driven 140 sound, closer to grime. In 2025, NERO endorsed his reinterpretation of Innocence as Innocence 2025. The remix circuit continued to grow: Skrillex and Ahadadream on TAKA, Hamdi on Counting, Becky Hill, Sub Focus, and NLE Choppa. Today he oscillates between 140, garage, and club bass, with a signature mixing style that doesn't seek a formula, but rather the beat that makes you nod your head.
