The liturgy of hard kicks
Amidst visual crosses, black and white t-shirts, and an almost ceremonial stage energy, The Saints have built a recognizable identity within modern hardstyle. The Dutch duo formed by Jules van de Sant and Rick de Deken works on their own concept, Holy Madness, a mix of epicness, contrast, and collective release that combines luminous melodies with aggressive kicks and a very physical reading of the dancefloor.
From an urgent lesson to Rough Recruits
the project's history was born from an unexpected connection between friends. Rick received an opportunity to DJ when he hadn't yet mastered the technique, and Jules, who had already oriented his career toward production after leaving high-level sports in 2019, helped him prepare for the jump to the booth. Jules came from training at NS Audio and moving under the alias Kid Brutal; Rick brought the extroverted pulse of a party DJ. That combination crystallized into The Saints and their first release, Rescue Me, a track that received support from Adaro and ended up being released on Rough Recruits.
Songs to sing before the drop
The duo's rise accelerated with a very concrete formula: hard-hitting hardstyle, but always musical and recognizable. They released material on Q-dance presents SPEQTRUM with cuts like Unite Us All, TUTUTU alongside Invector, and The Alarm, and later reinforced their position within Dirty Workz with tracks like My Own Sun, Holy Madness, FEEL IT, and Till The End. The impact of TUTUTU and OG Raver, their collaboration with The Purge, opened space for them in large-format sets and confirmed their ability to turn vocal hooks and mashups into moments of rave communion.
From the club to the massive stage
Live, The Saints functions as a high-voltage proposal: direct track selection, constant interaction, and a calculated tension between the euphoric and the raw. Their performances have passed through events such as Defqon.1, REBiRTH Festival, Decibel Outdoor, Shutdown Festival, Sunrise Festival, Kalkstorm, Supremacy, and Intents Festival, with a particularly notable moment during The Gathering at Defqon.1 2025. They have also transferred that pressure to clubs, with a prominent presence in spaces like Fabrik Madrid.
An expanding rave faith
The recent stage places them as one of the most visible ascents in European hard dance. The hardstyle version of One (Your Name) reinforced their bond with the EDM imagery that inspired them, while Awake Me, alongside Vertile, took them into the territory of official anthems with the Intents Festival 2026 anthem. Without losing the melodic component, The Saints continues to push their own stage brand: dark and luminous, accessible and hard-hitting, designed for the audience to sing before the drop hits again.
