From teenage laboratory to hardstyle phenomenon

Sub Zero Project is the Dutch duo formed by Thomas Velderman and Nigel Coppen. Nigel initially worked under the name Sub Zero, and meeting Thomas through YouTube transformed that project into a studio alliance. In late 2013, they signed with Dirty Workz while still teenagers, and from there, they began to polish an identity marked by raw tension, kick design, and spectacle ambition.

The SZP formula: melody, brutality, and science fiction

Their sound combines hardstyle, rawstyle, and an euphoric sensibility supported by massive leads, mutant kicks, and a futuristic aesthetic. The arrival of The Project in 2017 placed them at the center of the conversation due to their use of psy-influenced kicks and aggressive attacks. They later expanded that language in conceptual live shows such as The XPRMNT, Contagion, Rave Into Space, Psychodelic, Robot Ravolution, and Our World, where the music functions as part of a visual narrative of laboratories, raves, and technological dystopia.

Anthems for the harder temple

The definitive leap came with The Game Changer, the anthem for Qlimax 2018, which made them the youngest creators of an anthem for the event. Their catalog includes Our Church with Headhunterz, Darkest Hour with D-Block & S-te-Fan, Halo, Trip To Mars, Renaissance Of Rave, Path Of The Warrior as the Defqon.1 2023 anthem, Maze Of Memories as the Reverze 2024 anthem, It Will Be OK with Dual Damage, Brace For Impact with Hardwell and Lil Jon, and Capital Of Crazy with Rebelion and Micah Martin as the Intents Festival 2025 anthem. They have also collaborated with Timmy Trumpet, W&W, Vini Vici, Da Tweekaz, Coone, and Steve Aoki.

A high-voltage global machine

Sub Zero Project has taken their act to Defqon.1, Tomorrowland, Qlimax, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Medusa, AMF, and Parookaville, in addition to tours across Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. In 2025, they debuted on the Tomorrowland mainstage, toured Australia, Canada, and the United States, and reached the 64 spot on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs. Represented by One World Artists, they arrive in 2026 as one of the most powerful brands in modern hardstyle: a project capable of crossing festival melody, raw aggression, and audiovisual narrative with international impact.
