Mandopop at 150 BPM

When a Chinese classic kicks in hard at a club in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, or Singapore, the crowd's reaction usually points to the same person: Inquisitive. The Singaporean DJ and producer has turned the intersection of hard dance, hardstyle, and Mandopop, Cantopop, and K-pop melodies into a recognizable language, with high-energy sets and remixes that have racked up millions of streams. His version of BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" surpassed five million plays and paved a path he has since applied to C-pop anthems and recent K-pop hits.

Three DMC crowns and the turn to EDM

Before this identity, he won the Singapore DMC Championships for three consecutive years (2006, 2007, and 2008) and took the country's name to the world finals: top 12 at the DMC World DJ Championship and fourth place in the 2007 Battle for World Supremacy, in addition to victories at the Zouk / Phuture battles. Trained in turntablism by veteran Andrew Chow, he started in hip hop and R&B; his trip to London for the DMC pushed him toward EDM. Back in Singapore, he promoted Mad Thrills parties at Avalon and played at The Butter Factory, Zirca, and Zouk, mixing dance cuts with battle-school scratches.

From VINAI and Barong Family to Dirty Workz

The single "Two Of Us," in collaboration with VINAI, received support from Tiësto and placed him on the global EDM circuit. In 2020, he signed with Barong Family, Yellow Claw's Dutch label, and released "Battle Fury" with Lockdown on Family Matters Vol. 7. Then came Dirty Workz with "Do You Lift?," alongside Mike Enemy and Natalia Moon. The independent track "DIVINE YASHA" was the first hard dance song by a Singaporean artist to surpass one million streams on Spotify; it was followed by "FAIRY DYNASTY," "BU DE BU AI 不得不爱," and "Can't Help Falling in Love." He has shared the stage with Lady Gaga, JJ Lin, LMFAO, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Carnage, Chance The Rapper, The Prodigy, and Pitbull, and has performed at Ultra Korea, Ultra Japan, Marquee Sydney, and Legacy Festival Singapore.

Touring between Asia and North America

Today, he frequently releases under his own label INQUISITIVE DYNASTY, maintains annual hard dance mixes, and tours clubs and venues across Australia, Indonesia, Canada, and the United States, with recent appearances at Frequency Calgary, Atlas Superclub Bali, and Avalon Hollywood. He continues to expand this fusion on tour, flying the flag for Asian-inspired hard dance outside of Southeast Asia.
