The number one arrived in a buggy

In a buggy heading to the Reading Festival stage, Tommy Phillips saw his name at the top of Beatport with Sun Is Shining (Lovelee Dae). Twenty minutes later he was playing one of the biggest shows of his life. The track, built on the 1997 house classic by Blaze, closed out a seven-date week that also included his debut at Creamfields and closing a Music On warm-up session at Pacha Ibiza.

Chicago swing with his own voice

His sound crosses early Chicago swing with breakbeat urgency, club basslines, and vocal hooks that cut through the mix. In the minimal / deep tech scene, he has become recognizable for an unusual gesture: he records and processes his own voice. The Fixation EP (neXup recz, 2025) —featuring Fixation, Something Happening, and Deja Vu— reached number one on the Beatport singles chart and topped three categories. Million Things, released in 2026 licensed by Warner Records, pushed that vocal line toward a wider audience without letting go of the dancefloor groove.

High school beats, Roush and META

Born and raised in Northampton, he played drums in a gospel choir and, while still a teenager, sold hip hop beats to American rappers. A set at Forbidden Forest at eighteen pushed him toward the dancefloor. He debuted on record with 2 Step (Jump Digital Records, 2020) and followed up with Wait For The Day (2023), which was played on BBC Introducing Northampton. The club breakthrough came with the Smokin’ EP on Roush, Hector Couto's label, and the Foolish Stuff EP on META, by Ben Rau: both climbed Beatport charts and hit the booths of Pacha, fabric, and Space Miami. He left a construction job to dedicate himself to music full-time.

The neXup orbit

When he lived in Leeds, he supported Max Dean and Luke Dean with a set consisting entirely of his own material. Max claimed him instantly. You Just Might (neXup, 2024) led to a UK tour with Max —fabric, Motion in Bristol, NX in Newcastle— and established him as the voice of the crew. The official remix of I Remember (deadmau5 and Kaskade), released on mau5trap in March 2025, surpassed one million streams and went viral on TikTok. Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Sidney Charles, and Mau P have supported his tracks.

From the Space debut to the global tour

After sold-out tours in South America —Buenos Aires, Medellín, Quito, and Santiago— and dates in China, in May 2026 he made his booth debut at Club Space Miami. He has played at EDC Las Vegas, Splash House, and Paradise at UNVRS. His current worldwide booking is with LUMA Agency, with United Talent Agency for North America. He continues to tour with the neXup family, with a club sound that no longer asks for permission to occupy the main stage.
