Awakenings Festival is, indisputably, the largest and most influential Techno event on the planet. Born in 1997 at the hands of Rocco Veenboer, it began as a series of parties in Amsterdam's legendary Gashouder (a former circular industrial gas tank), a venue that would become its spiritual temple. The name "Awakenings" refers to resurrection, as the first event was held at Easter. From those underground origins, it has evolved into a global empire with a massive outdoor festival (Summer Festival) and multiple annual editions during ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event), attracting more than 300,000 visitors per year from over 80 countries.

Unlike other festivals that dilute their offering, Awakenings has remained faithful to a single religion: Techno. Here you won't find commercial EDM or distractions; only the best underground music in the world, from the Detroit sound to Schranz, passing through Melodic and Hard Techno.
