High-voltage groove and Hellbent aesthetic

An elastic kick drum, vocals chopped with a sampler mentality, and a visual image taken from the language of metal concerts have made Cloonee one of the most recognizable figures of the new generation of British tech house. His music is designed for the big dance floor, yet it retains a very functional economy: rolling bass, dry percussion, catchy vocal phrases, and a tension that works just as well in late-night clubs as it does on festival stages.

From Bewdley to Sheffield, with a stop in Los Angeles

Raised in Bewdley, Worcestershire, Cloonee came to dance music after an adolescence marked by nu metal, dubstep, and drum and bass. In Sheffield, during his university years, he began to cut his teeth in local booths like Tank and on the The Tuesday Club circuit, a context that gave him DJ experience before his name began to circulate outside the UK. After the post-pandemic reopening, his connection with Chris Lake and the push of the US market led him to settle in Los Angeles in 2021, a change that expanded his audience and opened his sound to Latin rhythms, more direct vocals, and international collaborations.

Number ones, key labels, and an increasingly distinct signature

His takeoff came with the EP Estes on elrow Music in 2017 and continued with releases on labels such as Desert Hearts, Repopulate Mars, Solid Grooves, Sola, Solotoko, La Pera, Big Beat, and Black Book Records. Tracks like The Ciggie, Be Good To Me, and Like What? marked an early club-oriented stage; the latter two reinforced his presence on Beatport, with number ones on the tech house chart. In 2022, he opened a decisive chapter with Hellbent Records, his own label and brand that was born as a vehicle for his most requested unreleased tracks and ended up becoming a platform for new producers, compilations like Welcome To Hell, and a visual identity of chains, hard typography, and community slogans.

Club Space, Ibiza, and a phase of global expansion

Cloonee's international consolidation is supported by extended sets, a strong relationship with Club Space Miami, dates in Ibiza, and performances at large-format venues like Brooklyn Mirage. His recent phase maintains the club pulse with cuts like Sippin’ Yak, Stephanie with Young M.A and InntRaw, Vamos A La Playa with Miranda, XTC with Jocelyn Enriquez, and Free Your Mind with Prospa. In parallel, his Hellbent shows have grown toward more ambitious stage production, without abandoning the central idea of his project: turning simple, hard, and memorable grooves into tools of maximum impact for DJs and massive audiences.
