Biography of Crankdat
A laboratory called re-crank
Crankdat's re-cranks turned the 2016 SoundCloud into a bootleg workshop with its own name: they weren't just another remix, but aggressive and melodic reinterpretations that circulated as a secret weapon among DJs. His version of Trap Queen by Fetty Wap, and subsequent spins on San Holo, Joyryde, Porter Robinson, Zeds Dead, or The Chainsmokers placed him, while barely in his twenties from Ohio, on the radar of Skrillex, The Chainsmokers, and DJ Snake.
The track and field he left for the DJ booth
He started producing in late 2012 with FL Studio, while still in high school, and managed to balance the studio with a full track and field scholarship at Kent State University. In 2017, he left that athletic path to focus on music. His first professional concert was in 2015, opening for Waka Flocka Flame in Houston. Two years later came the original Dollars and the bass house track I Hold Still, with Jauz and Slushii, a song already played on the festival circuit. The Outcast tour and his first residency in Las Vegas with Hakkasan Group closed that first stage.
From Gearworld to DJ Snake
The catalog expanded on Welcome Records with the EP Gearworld Volume 1 (2019) and its homonymous tour, the more aggressive Fearworld and, on Disciple, Mechanised Mayhem. He landed on Monstercat with Kneel Before Me, alongside SLANDER and Asking Alexandria, and continued with Falling, the EP Sad Robot (2021), Ding Dong, Power Stone, Move Back, and Slaughter House (2023). With Marshmello he recorded Falling To Pieces for Joytime III. The single STFU (2023) and Big Bang with DJ Snake (2024, Interscope) pushed him into the global dubstep and bass circuit. Later came Open The Pit with Juicy J, Whiplash with SOFI, the track with NGHTMRE and Duke Deuce, and Movement. The Remix Machine mixtapes maintain the re-crank habit. He has also released on Kannibalen, Armada, and his label CRANKDAT MUSIC.
GET CRANKED, Red Rocks and the jump to headliner
His sets, full of unreleased edits and genre changes, have taken him to EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and Lost Lands. In 2025, he signed with Red Light Management and continues to be booked worldwide by The Gongaware Group, with Primary Talent in Europe. That year he also held a residency at Zouk in Las Vegas. In 2026, he debuted as a headliner at Red Rocks, announced the Tacoma Dome, and chained several nights at the Shrine in Los Angeles under the GET CRANKED brand, the step from viral SoundCloud phenomenon to bass music headliner.
