Biography of Francesco Del Garda
Rare gems at thirty-three revolutions
On dancefloors where house bends towards electro and the most elastic techno, Francesco Del Garda has become an unmistakable figure: a selector who plays with surgical technique, a bag of rarities, and a smile that reveals the pleasure of someone who still treats vinyl as a craft. Since the age of sixteen, when he started buying records following DJ friends, he has built a reputation as a DJ's DJ: someone capable of stringing together forgotten gems, second-hand treasures, and new tracks without losing the funk pulse of the dancefloor.
The leap from Manfredonia to Echoes
Born in 1978 in Manfredonia, in Puglia, at eighteen he left the south to settle on the Romagna Riviera, then the nerve center of Italian clubbing. There he made his way into nationally renowned parties and became a stable part of the Echoes family. His obsession with analog and minimal led him to complete collections of projects like Concept 1, Studio 1, and Profan. In the years when the circuit orbited around Minus, he was looking for something else: a personal crossover of groovy house, deep techno, and electronic funk, with an ear tuned to names like Zip, Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, or Onur Özer.
Timeless, fabric, and the global circuit
In 2017 he founded Timeless, an Italian vinyl label designed to give a platform to artists with their own voice. In parallel, his name became established in cult clubs—Goa Club, Robert Johnson, DC-10, Nu Echoes—and, above all, as a resident at fabric in London, where he defends long and rigorously analog sessions. He has played at Circoloco in Ibiza, Dimensions, Dekmantel, Junction 2, and on Boiler Room during The Lighthouse Festival. In 2025 he received the Premio Internazionale di Cultura Re Manfredi in his hometown. Today his international schedule is managed by Triangle Agency and he operates out of Bologna.
House, electro, garage, and techno without shortcuts
His sound doesn't fit into a single label. He mixes house, electro, UK garage, techno, and minimal with elastic basslines, transitions that bridge eras, and a predilection for groove. As a producer, he has released with Alessandro Gaia —tracks like Move Your Body and The Tribe— and the Bubble EP together with Seuil on Eklo. The RA.518 podcast for Resident Advisor, recorded in his studio in Italy, summarized that signature in 2016: warmth, rhythmic drive, and a clean stitching between genres. He remains, above all, a vinyl digger who puts the right record on at the right moment.
