The orange heart of Veenendaal

Headhunterz is the artistic project of Willem Rebergen, a Dutch DJ, producer, and voice actor born in Veenendaal, in the province of Utrecht. His relationship with music began before the DJ booth: as a child, he sang in a local choir and recorded albums in a professional studio, an experience that sparked his fascination with sound creation. In 2003, a ticket to Qlimax changed his path and led him to focus on hardstyle, learning to produce in FL Studio from his family's attic home studio.

Melody, power, and a new form of hardstyle

After an initial period linked to Nasty D-Tuners, Headhunterz signed with Scantraxx and began to define a sound of his own: hardstyle kicks, epic melodies, emotional vocals, and energy designed for massive stages. In 2006, he released tracks like Aiming For Ur Brain and The Sacrifice, and shortly after, he became one of the central figures of the genre. The Power of the Mind was the official anthem of Qlimax 2007, while Scrap Attack marked Defqon.1 2009, consolidating his bond with the great rituals of the Dutch hard dance scene.

Project One, HARD with STYLE, and global expansion

In 2008, he joined forces with Wildstylez to create Project One, an essential melodic hardstyle duo with tracks like Life Beyond Earth, The Art of Creation, and The Story Unfolds. In 2011, he launched the HARD with STYLE podcast, which later evolved into a label and brand of its own, and in 2013, he opened a broader international chapter with Ultra Records. During those years, he explored territories of electro house, big room, and EDM alongside artists like W&W, Steve Aoki, R3hab, KSHMR, and Krewella, without losing the emotional connection with his hardstyle audience.

Return, studio, and contemporary legacy

In 2017, he announced his return to hardstyle at Defqon.1, a moment received as a celebration by the community. The following year, he released The Return of Headhunterz and co-founded Art of Creation alongside Wildstylez, a key platform for his melodic vision of the genre. His recent period includes tracks like Time To Dance Again, Before I Wake with Vertile, Lost Without You with Vertile and Sian Evans, How Far Can You Go, Moonlight, and Live Forever. After saying goodbye to regular tours with a final show at 013 Tilburg in December 2023, Headhunterz oriented his career toward studio production, although his surprise reappearance at EPIK 2025 and the return of Project One in 2026 keep his stage dimension alive. His place within hardstyle remains that of an emotional, technical, and symbolic architect of the Orange Heart culture.
